Cannot delete (empty) folder from Mac client
Hello. A Mac client of mine has a problem deleting an empty folder from the root of a Samba 4.12 server share, reporting a permission issue; however, the more I look at it, the more I am convinced it should be able to delete it. smb.conf: > [global] > workgroup=XXXXXXXX > realm=XXXXXXXX.local > interfaces=em0 > hosts allow=192.168.XXX. 10.0.XXX.2

Writing on an HFS+ drive on raspberry pi
I have been trying for the past few months to set up my raspberry pi to do incremental backups using time machine over Samba since AFP is being deprecated. Also since the latest release of samba (4.8.0) came out with support for time machine I decided to compile it myself and give it a go. The drive is formatted in HFS plus. The main problem that I am having is that even though I can mount the

Samba Authentication wrecking my head [ADS]
Ive recently installed three servers with RHEL5u5. After some messing on the original, I got samba working with ADS authentication. I then went and got it working so that users could log in using their domain name & password to the box. I got this working with both no restriction, and ADS group restriction. I have left it on no restriction wheil I get these systems up and running. I then

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin

SEtroubleshootd Crashing
I'll jump in here to say we'll try your suggestion, but I guess what's not been mentioned is that we get the setroubleshoot abrt's only a few times a day, but we're getting 10000s of setroubleshoot messages in /var/log/messages a day. e.g. Dec 2 10:03:55 server audispd: queue is full - dropping event Dec 2 10:04:00 server audispd: last message repeated 199 times Dec 2

Indeed, thanks Dan - it doesn't get us to a completely clean running that would allow us to run our Node app as we are under Passenger with SELinux enforcing, but it at least has stopped the excessive amount of AVCs we were getting. Using Gettext To Translate Your Rails Application

Extracting vectors from matrices
There is probably a simple and obvious answer to this, so sorry for wasting your time... I have a matrix of predictions from an proportional odds model (using the polr function in MASS), so the columns are the probabilities of the responses, and the rows are the data points. I have another column with the observed responses, and I want to extract the probabilities for the observed responses. As

With a current version of Dovecot a search is pretty fast _without_ using external indexes. I have a view defined (virtual plugin) with around 22.000 messages in it, and searching the full view only takes 2.5
