odfWeave & XML error in post-processing
I've been happily building a file with odfWeave, and just as the hour draws nigh for it to be sent off, odfWeave or XML throws the following catastrophic error: ...this is the tail of entirely uneventful processing of input file..... 31 : term xml(label=LR_Fall_Model_Results) 32 : term verbatim(label=LR_Model_Fall_graph) 33 : term xml(label=LR_OMC_tab) 'content_1.xml' has

[ifelse] how to maintain a value from original matrix without probs?
Dear all, I have a matrix with positive and negative values. >From this I would like to produce 2 matrices: 1st - retaining positives and putting NA in other positions 2nd - retaining negatives and putting NA in other positions and then apply rowMeans for both. I am trying to use the function ifelse in the exemplified form: ifelse(A>0,A,NA) but by putting A as a 2nd parameter it

how to implement rate-limiting measures on interfaces using IPTables?
Hello all I have been tasked to implement rate-limiting measures on interfaces using IPTables in RHEL 7. I know that in order to implement it using FirewallD, I will need to run the following command: firewall-cmd --direct --add-rule ipv4 filter IN_public_allow 0 -p tcp -m limit --limit 25/minute --limit-burst 100 -j ACCEPT How would I do the same using IPtables? Thanks!! Sean

ssh tunnel - can I set remote bind address?
With ssh tunnel (-L option), is it possible to set _remote_ bind address? Say, I have a remote SSH server with two IP addresses, 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2. I would like to make sure that any outgoing connections to 3.3.3.3 will be made from 2.2.2.2: ssh client ---> 1.1.1.1 ssh server 2.2.2.2 >--- 3.3.3.3 Pseudo "--remote-bind" command here to illustrate what I mean: ssh -N -L

chrooting/jailing transfer-only accounts
Folks, I've been tasked to find a solution that will create file-transfer-only accounts that are jailed or chrooted to a specific directory. (Not an uncommon task, I think.) Using the OpenSSH server and the OpenSSH scp client program, I can achieve the goal of having a file transfer only account jailed to a specified directory, by using the "scpjail" script (attached) as a

assert_select issue
I''d like to do an assert_select where only ONE of the matching elements needs to match the :text. It seems counterintuitive to me to require them *all* to match, which precludes me from testing the existence of a particular tag (h1) with some particular text if other instances of the same tag exist. I know that I can narrow down the field by using more detailed selectors, but it sure

reading a character translation table into R
I have a txt file (attached) that defines equivalents among characters in latin1 (or iso-8859-1), numeric &#xxx; codes, HTML entities and latex equivalents. A portion of the file is shown inline below, but may not be rendered well in this email. I'd like to read this into R to use as a character translation table, but am stuck on two things: - The 5 fields in the file are

bind chroot, bind mounts and selinux
Hi All, I'm migrating a CentOS 6 bind instance (chrooted) to a CentOS 7 box and am curious of people's opinions on chrooting vs selinux as a way of securing bind. The bind-chroot on CentOS 7 also comes with a script (/usr/libexec/setup-named-chroot.sh) that sets up the much maligned systemd and, through bind mounts, creates and extra level of chroot hierarchy giving:

valid_chroot_dirs question
Hello, I've got a dovecot setup using PAM and real system users. In this setup I also use pure-ftpd to give local users ftp access to their $HOMEs. To have pure-ftpd chroot into the user home i replaced /home/user with /home/user/./ in /etc/passwd. Unfortunately this breaks Dovecot this way: Oct 23 18:18:20 localhost dovecot: Invalid chroot directory '/home/foo' (user foo) (see

Poor performance on open/copy/close/rename file operations via remote/VPN connection
Hello, I have Samba version 3.0.24 running on a 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 x86 kernel (xeon 3ghz, 1gb ram raid 5). All clients accessing samba shares via LAN have no problems. Samba server works perfectly and fast. We are instead experiencing serious performance issues when accessing samba shares from remote clients (WAN), via VPN. Simple operations like "open a file", "copy & paste a

lmtp: Error: Temp file creation to /tmp/ ... failed: No such file or directory on incoming mails with attachments
Dear list, I'm currently facing problems when receiving eMails with attachments, at least sometimes. My mailserver is set up with the tool 'Mailcow', and hence is based on Dovecot (2.2.22 (fe789d2)) and Postfix. Usually, there are no problems with receiving mails. If a mail has an attachment, however, it is possible that the following error occurs (extract from /var/log/mail.log):

Restricting User Rights massively
Hi folks, is it possible to restrict the rights of a user to only do few, defined actions, e.g. only look up cpu and memory usage, but not walk around in the file system, not see any other hardware details, run any binaries/scripts? I know several different techniques to achieve parts of this (like chrooting him), but is there one technique to get it all? Dirk
