a fast way to do my job
Dear R users, I am running the following code below, the gem751be.rpkm is a dataframe with dim of 751 samples by 35164 variables, 73 phenotypic variables in the furst to 73rd column and 35091 genomic variables or genes in the 74th to 35164th columns. What I need to do is to calculate the residuals for each gene using the simple linear regression model of genelist[i] ~ purity2; The following

--xattrs requires protocol 30 or higher error
Hi there, We are using rsync 3.0.6 on two identical SLES 10.2 servers. The destination server is running rsyncd. When I include the -X switch in the rsync command from the source I get the following: --xattrs requires protocol 30 or higher (negotiated 29). rsync error: protocol incompatibility (code 2) at compat.c(205) [sender=3.0.6] Both rsync versions are 3.0.6 protocol version 30. PATCH: fast copy of files in local server mode
Dear List, the attached patch makes rsync of local folders almost as fast as cp. when rsync client and server has detected that they are working in local_server mode, they use local_socket, a unix domain socket pair, to pass the file descriptors of the synced files. the server uses the file descriptor it receives from the client to fast copy from src to dst file. on completion of every file fast

The problem is that then the bash file is copyed to FreeBSD it must be executed and the new ipfw rules work. Is it possible rsync to execute the bash file after it is copyed to the FreeBSD server? Unable to find the source of the error: bad file descriptora
Hi, After a few attempts, I've managed to grab the files from CVS and build it on a rh redora box I've setup especially for Asterisk. Firstly, we're new to the asterisk scene, so please excuse any "lame" questions which may follow.. We're a new voiptalk.org customer. We have purchased the voip phones (budgetone 102's) and set aside a little box to run Asterisk on.

PATCH: --write-devices to allow synchronising to a block device
Hi List, I had a need recently to efficiently synchronise between some large LUNs (boot drive disks) at two different datacentres. Solutions like drbd and $proprietary_array_vendors_software were overkill - we only needed (wanted!) to periodically synchronise these LUNs whenever major changes were generated on the source. On the other hand however, re-sending the entire disk contents each time

Samba 3.0.6 Problems w/AD and Kerberos
Running into a lot of people upgrading to the 3.0.6 package that all of a sudden begin to experience the "Failed to verify incoming ticket!" errors etc., that are generally associated with a kerberos package incompatibility. However many of these people are running later versions of kerberos *and* reverting to a previous version of Samba appears to fix the issue. Is there something new

rake db:create fails
Hello folks, I´m here trying to find the way to solve my problem. When i try to run rake db:create or rake db:create:all the process stops and the databases are not created. I change the directives, putting --trace before the rake db:create and the steps are C:\appws\cookbook>rake db:create --trace (in C:/appws/cookbook) ** Invoke db:create (first_time) ** Invoke db:load_config (first_time)

can a .rsync-filter improve performance?
Hi, I know certain subtrees I want to backup are written once and never deleted. So to reduce the time it takes rsync to run, I was thinking of putting the following .rsync-filter in each of these subtrees: P /** I can see this stops the files on the receiver side from being deleted. Does this filter also improve performance? It looks like it does. If I do a manual test and delete a file in
