DAHDI/ZAP overlap dialing
Hi,
I have a PRI euroisdn link between an Alcatel PBX and Asterisk.
I'm having some trouble with overlap dialing.
Suppose I dial '874053' from an Alcatel extension ('7034') where '87' is an Alcatel prefix of type "ARS Prof.Trg Grp Seiz.with overlap".
I'm expecting Asterisk to receive '1004053' (where '100' is a prefix which always shows

How to make try to catch warnings in logistic glm
Dear list,
>From an earlier post I got the impression that one could promote
warnings from a glm to errors (presumably by putting
options(warn=1)?), then try() would flag them as errors. I?ve spent
half the day trying to do this, but no luck. Do you have an explicit
solution?
My problems is that I am trying to figure out during what conditions

Script to Authenticate User and Dial Out
Hello. I'm looking for a script that I can use that will ask users for
a password, and then let them call any extension on the asterisk server.
Does anyone know of a premade script that can do this, or a resource I
could use to make my own?
Thanks,
Josh

preload test data from factory_girl
Is there a way to preload common data made by factory_girl to speed up
tests instead of recreating these common data at the beginning of
every test. For example, I want to have 10 users premade at the
beginning of every test.
I found this http://agilewebdevelopment.com/plugins/factory_data_preloader
But the page says that this plugin does not "play nice" with
autotest. But I use

Drawing schematics
Hi,
I would like to represent the treatment course of a subject with an arrow representing passage through time and various ticks, arrows, or bars representing treatments done to the patient along the arrow. I would like to generate this sort of schematic for each patient in a database taking information from the database such as time of treatment and type of treatment.
Does anybody know how I

inexpensive / reasonably priced workstation / server development box
We are testing some simple low bandwidth video and audio broadcasting using
real server and client softwares.
So, for quick check and simplicity, we were plunking along TESTING on an
3.2GHz XP box and I noticed frames were getting dropped on the broadcast
just for resizing a window on the screen during the session.
Talk about totally lame...
I know this can be a big deal and start conflicting

[LLVMdev] First steps with LLVM and partial evaluation
Hi all,
I'm rather new to LLVM and intend to dive into partial evaluation with LLVM.
I tried to run the example from http://llvm.org/devmtg/2008-08-23/llvm_partial.pdf, which worked after some adaptations, which were necessary, because
LLVM evolved since
the slides were made. However, I also tried to get the same example running as an optimization pass following the instructions in

vmware 1.0.4 lock up on install
I am not having a good experience with vmware.
Twice I have tried it today and it locks up my machine.
First attempt was to install centos 4.5 i386. It told me it
could not find anything to install on. After a post to the list
I was instructed to not do typical, but custom and select LSILogic
as the controller. I did and I got past that point.
I then goto into an install with 6 minutes remaining

Can't run most apps after updating to Mandriva 2005 LE
Hi all,
I've just updated my system from Mandrake 10.1 to 10.2 (Mandriva 2005
LE) with kernel 2.6.11-12mdk and most apps that worked before don't
work now.
I've tried different versions of wine, both RPM and source code, the
one I used before (20050111), the one that is supplied with the
distribution and the latest RPM from SourceForge.
The following is a typical example of the

Changing file permissions from the command line
Hi,
I run Samba 2.2.3a (Solaris 7) in domain authentication mode in a Windows
2000 domain. I would like to be able to script file permissions changes from
the Windows side using a command line utility, e.g. cacls, however I have
only been successful in changing the UNIX world permisssions, not owner and
group. A summary follows. Has anyone come across a solution for this?
Thanks,
Fintan

Text Messaging or AIM
Does anyone know of a program/extention to asterisk that would allow
me to either text message my asterisk box or IM it from AIM on my cell
phone to allow it to call me? I've been looking with google yet can't
find anything. I don't code, so I'm SOL there, so I'm looking for
something premade. I plan on taking a class on perl during the fall
semester at my local community

Puppet modifying directories by executing shell script as non-root user results in kernel-level insufficient privilege complaints
I am using Puppet 3.1.0 on a CentOS 6.3 machines. The puppet master and
puppet agents use CentOS 6.3 as their OS. I have a puppet script (init.pp
file for the puppet module) that contains the following exec type:
exec { "postgres init":
cwd => "/applications/module",
command => "bash initializePostgres.sh",

ADS on Solaris
Hi all,
I see that the premade binaries for Samba on Solaris, even recent
versions, have ADS support not compiled in. I see more ad domains than
nt4 domains these days, so I am going to compile it myself with ads on.
I want to ask the experienced if there are any gotchas with ads Samba on
Solaris, or something about Solaris that makes ads Samba support
difficult. Thanks
