After many more hours of searching, I found someone else in the exact same situation as me. But even better, he figured it out and posted a patch! http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2008-February/057829.html Thank you Claude! -- http://theamigo.blogspot.com

Sending signals to current R process from R running under MS Windows (c.f. Esc)
I am using RGtk2 for a simple GUI (rattle). I start rattle from the RGui and I remain able to interact with the RGui while rattle runs. Under MS/Windows, when rattle has initiated some other underlying R command the rattle GUI remains responsive (unlike under GNU/Linux where it is not responsive until the underlying command completes). I can interrupt the running command with a press of the Esc

How to speed up rsync when haveing lots of files
Hello List, unfortunatelly rsync is beeing REALLY slow and produces a high load when we try to sync lots of files (>250 000 small files). My experience is, that this is fatser if i do it folder by folder. Is there a rsync option which reduces the load and speeds up the rsync somehow? Thanks, Mario

[Help] How to keep ($clang_dir)/include/clang/AST/Attrs.inc file after compilation?
Hi, I'm playing with tableGenerator in order to add custom attirbute. Most of attributes are parsed from ($clang_dir)/include/clang/AST/Attrs.inc, which is generated by tableGen based on *.td, but this generated include file is deleted after parsing completes. Is there any compilation option to keep this, or any other way to do it? Thank you for your valuable time! -- Best, Sung

Problem: udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idProduct}'
Hi, all : Today my laptop shows the following messages during booting: udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idProduct}' udevb[478]: add_to_rules: unknown key 'ATTRS{idVendor}' ..... ..... .... These many lines are repeated over and over filling the whole screen. But after a few seconds booting continues as usual and the system works fine. But what is it with this

support for ext-attrs on non-supporting FS's
Maybe rsync could support extattrs on non-supporting fs's with a .<fn>.xattr file stored at the same place as the <fn>: If a user used a switch to emulate 'xattrs', then on a fs that didn't support real .xattrs one could still ACL and other .xattr info. If a user ran rsync w/o that switch such files would be treated as 'normal files' -- allowing copying

ip attrs on computer object
Hi team, I am trying to store some ip-data on the computer-account object in ldap. I managed to store ip-address in 'ipHostNumber' and mac-address in 'macAddress' (after adding objectClass: "ieee802Device"). The last attribute I want to store is 'ipNetmaskNumber' (which is in the 2008R2 schema), but that fails because it is non-existent in the

Portforwarding using the control master.
Hi all, currently I am considering writing a patch for OpenSSH that will allow portforwarding using the control_master unix domain socket. The idea is to introduce an extra SSHMUX command, SSHMUX_COMMAND_SOCKS, which will then pass control to the normal socks functions used for dynamic forwarding. The main reason for me to write this patch are: - some more control over who gets to connect to

Sharing all mailboxes and userdb LDAP attrs
Hello all, I'm setting up a Dovecot environment here, version 1.2.15 on Debian 6.0.2 "squeeze". This is actually a complete revamp of the previous setup we have in-place here, built from the ground up with updated versions of all involved software. The operators have told me that they use some scripts hacked up by a previous sysadmin to give a single "admin" account full

General CentOS 5.1 (or Gnome) instability?
I've been a big fan of CentOS for a while, and didn't have many issues with CentOS 4.X over the past few years. However, since moving to CentOS 5.1 a few weeks ago, I have received more problem reports from my users than in the last year and a half on CentOS 4.X. I've previously reported the problem with gnome-terminal crashing (and since there is a single gnome-terminal
