Italian Translation Team
hi, my name is Andrea Veri and I'm currently involved into GNOME as the chairman of the GNOME Membership Committee and as a GNOME accounts manager. I had a look at the centos wiki and did not find any information written in italian. I'm therefore here to start an italian translation team and maybe get a valid it.centos.org area dedicated to centos written in the italian language. (of

Is k equivalent to k:k ?
Hi, I wonder if the following (apparent) inconsistency is a bug or feature. Since scalars are simply vectors of length one I would think that a and a:a produce the same result. For example, > identical(4.01,4.01:4.01) [1] TRUE However, identical(4,4:4) [1] FALSE and > identical(4.0,4.0:4.0) [1] FALSE A closer look reveals that the colon operator produces objects

Is k equivalent to k:k ?
Bringing up an old topic on a small technicality. In the help documentation on seq. Value: The result is of 'mode' '"integer"' if 'from' is (numerically equal to an) integer and 'by' is not specified. The arguement in seq specifying length also creates "double" which is not obvious in the wording, as "by" is not specified

high dimensional convex hull
Does anyone know of a R package that will determine the convex hull of a high-dimensional dataset (say 4-10 dimensions). I know chull works for 2D data. I'm neophyte to R and convex hulls so please keep it simple. Many thanks Ben -- Ben Stapley. Biomolecular Sciences, UMIST, PO Box 88, Manchester M60 1QD. Tel 0161 200 5818 Fax 0161 236 0409
