rsync patch to add Apple keychain support
Hi!
In a project I'm working on, I needed a way to run rsync in daemon mode
as a regular user without having the passwords readable to everybody
accessing the console. With this chance rsync falls back to Apples
keychain access if no secrets file is given.
You need to put the passwords into the keychain like this (I do it
programmatically bit it can be done manually as well):

Storing rsync secrets in LDAP
Hi, a few months ago I posted a message about using LDAP to store rsync secrets in LDAP. I received a response about patching the rsync source code with a patch file. I am now finally getting around to doing this, and when I tried to use the patch command 'patch --verbose ./rsync-2.5.6/authenticate.c rsync-ldap.patch' , it gives me the following error:
Hmm... Looks like a unified diff

rsync & ldap authentication
Hi,
I'm trying to get rsync 2.5.6 to authenticate users via openldap-2.0.23. I was looking through the mailing list archives and found a patch for rsync-2.4.6 that does this for me. I was just wondering if this is still valid, or if there has been a new patch or new implementation that has superceded this patch. Any help would be great. The message I am referring to is as follows:

segment fault with 2.6.6 or CVS
Hi,
I've rebuilt rsync (which was running just fine for quite some time)
and it works if used via ssh or if the daemon is started via ssh.
But it crashed in daemon mode (started standalone or by xinetd)
Here is the gdb log
gdb ...

run --daemon --no-detach
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Sieve-scripts won't replicate
Hi,
I am trying to use dovecot replication for a two-way sync. And whatever
I do, sieve-scripts won?t replicate. Mails replicate near
instantaneous. When I disable the sieve-script in roundcube, the other
server will create in the home of the user on the other side a folder
sieve/tmp but enabling won?t create the roundcube.sieve and the
symlink .dovecot.sieve -> sieve/roundcube.sieve

Optim function with meta parameters
Hi guys.
I have a dataset with 4 columns. In the first and second column I have the
same qualitative variable referred to different teams of people. There are
10 teams in total and they compete against each other to perform a certain
task whose result is stored in the third column for the team recorded in the
first column, and in the fourth column for the team in the second column.
For example,

How many namespaces for several groups of shared mailboxes ?
Hello Timo,
let's say you want to implement several distinct groups of shared mailboxes via
one (several) public namespace(s) with dovecot-1.1.x/Maildir. For instance,
team1, team2 and team3 work on different projects (project1, project2,
project3).
Obviously, as many public namespaces (#team1, #team2, #team3) would do the
trick, but then, any user (including users who don't belong to

Hi,
sorry to bother you:
I have three AD in the domain.
They all deliver different IDs:

local routing puzzle
hi everyone
I'm having a bit of a puzzle on one centos system, I have
four interfaces:
nm-team1 10.5.6.100
em1 192.168.2.17
em2 192.168.2.18
p3p3 172.25.12.222
I do:
ping 10.5.6.17 -I em1
PING 10.5.6.17 (10.5.6.17) from 192.168.2.17 em1: 56(84)
bytes of data.
64 bytes from 10.5.6.17: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.367 ms
the same for -I em2, for -I em1 and naturally for -I
nm-team1 - all good.

Sortable or dragdrop to move items from one collection to another?
I need to present the user with a collection of players and one to many
teams. The user can drag a player to a team or from one team to another.
I started out using plain drag-drop, but was having trouble updating both
the from list and the to list. E.g. if a player goes from team1 to team2 I
need to update both of those divs. I can do the team2 div easy enough, but
the player record still

Shared mailbox ACL
Hi everyone,
I am having some trouble with shared folders in trying to replicate how we use them with a Cyrus backend.
The auth database is Samba4 active directory, so I am using an LDAP lookup to authenticate and forcing the UID and GID to be all the same. I have a post-login script that sets the group ACL, and this seems to be working fine. /mnt/mail is an NFS mount to a FreeNAS machine, and

[PATCH] rsync on cygwin - textmode config files
I've been running rsync-2.4.2 with an old patch of mine for some time for
backup purposes. Due to the recent remote bug, I thought it was time to
upgrade, even if the host was behind a firewall.
So I dug up the old patch (2.5.2 version attached), that I think I sent ages
ago to this list as well. It does the following:
(1) Firstly, the only sensible way to run something as

[Patch] rsync-2.6.2: Allow 'port = N' in rsyncd.conf
Hi,
If anyone is interested, the included patch to rsync-2.6.2 allows you to
specify the port number for an rsync server as a global option in
rsyncd.conf with 'port = <N>' (where <N> is your favorite port number).
Note that this parameter only takes effect when the server is started, not
when clients connect. Also, specifying the port in rsyncd.conf takes
precedence
