Hi, Few days a go one of my rsync server stop respond. When I tried to figure out way, I discover that rpc.statd is listen to port 873. Killing the rpc.statd process bypass the problem. The rsync suppose to backup one directory which includes about 2500 sub-dirs in it, e.g rsync of /home/user/stuff where stuff has about 2500 sub-dirs inside, but not many files in each sub-directory. Hello, What would be the expected behaviour of rsync, synchronizing a file that is changing in size. If I have a file ( say 100G ) that is being gzipped, and I start an rsync of that file system to a remote location, would rsync just send the data of that gzip file that exists on disk at that point in time, or would it keep looping seeing that the file is changing.
