I am currently puzzled by a seach path behavior. I have a library of a dozen routines getlabs(), getssn(), getecg(), ... that interface to local repositories and pull back patient information. All have a the first 6 arguments in common, and immediately call a second routine to do initial processing of these 6. The functions "joe" and "fred" below capture the relevant

Error in [.terms
Martin, ? There are a couple of issues with [.terms that have bitten my survival code.? At the useR conference I promised you a detailed (readable) explanation, and have been lax in getting it to you. The error was first pointed out in a bugzilla note from 2016, by the way.? The current survival code works around these. Consider the following formula: <<testform>>=

Different behavior of model.matrix between R 3.2 and R3.1.1
Terry - your example didn't demonstrate the problem because the variable that interacted with strata (zed) was not a factor variable. But I had stated the problem incorrectly. It's not that there are too many strata terms; there are too many non-strata terms when the variable interacting with the stratification factor is a factor variable. Here is a simple example, where I have

Evaluation puzzle
The survexp function can fail when called from another function. The "why" of this has me baffled, however. Here is a simple test case, using a very stripped down version of survexp: survexp.test <- function(formula, data, weights, subset, na.action, rmap, times, cohort=TRUE, conditional=FALSE, ratetable=survexp.us, scale=1, npoints, se.fit,

exclude an excluded file from being deleted by --delete-excluded
Hi, I have a particular directory in my exclude list, but I want it excluded from --delete-excluded. Is this possible. or maybe if I explain what I'm trying to do, someone will come up with a more suitable way. I am using rsync (2.6.6) to backup data from a Windows Server (cygwin) to an OpenBSD box. rsync -rtvz --delete-excluded --del --timeout=3600 -e "ssh -i c:\cygwin\ssh-key"

[Bluez-devel] Re: [Bridge] bridging bluetooth bnep deviceswith kernel 2.6.6-*
The ifreq structure to br_dev_do_ioctl() gives you the interface index (rq->ifr_ifindex) which is currently not being used. I small deficiency in postfix 2.6.6 on Centos 6.3
posfconf debugger_command does not work. This is a 'known' problem with 2.6 and fixed in postfix 2.9. This is tied into the large code rewrite in 2.9, and thus cannot be patched in 2.6. You can see my thread on this over on the postfix list. There was a comment how those running 4 year old code can look forward to the new troubleshooting and support features in 2.10...

Rsync 2.6.6 released
I have released rsync version 2.6.6. This release is a bug-fix release to handle a null-pointer bug that turned up in rsync's version of zlib 1.1.4 (this is not the recent zlib 1.2.2 security fix, which did not affect rsync) and to squash a few other minor bugs. To deal with the zlib issue, rsync has been upgraded to include zlib 1.2.3. Here is a list of the changes between 2.6.5 and 2.6.6:
