S4 Reference Classes: undesired behavior when calling method '$field()'
Dear list, I came across a behavior that IMHO is somewhat undesired when calling '$field()': If the field name whose value you're trying to get is *not* a valid field of the Reference Class, then R doesn't stop there with an error, but scans through all enclosing environments/frames. The result is something similar to calling '|get(<objname>, inherits=TRUE)|'

Undesired vertical lines in png file output using 'cairo-png'
Hello all, I'm writing a file to PNG on Windows 7 using 'cairo-png'. I've been using it without problem for a while, but abruptly I'm getting what look like unplotted areas. I'm using the cairo-png specifically because it sucessfully generates a transparent background, whereas 'windows' doesn't. The actual issue has a lot of code I don't think it's

Inbound/Outbound undesired behavior
Hi to all, I need some help, I have an Asterisk Server in a small call center, for inbound calls I setup a Queue in queues.conf and their respective Agents in agents.conf, but when an Agent is calling out and a call is coming from PSTN the call is send to that agents which have a call in progress. How I can fix this in order to have only one call at a time. I think in limitonpeer and call-limit

undesired grid in ps/eps outputs generated by filled.contour or image
Hi! Whenever I save a graphic in ps/eps format generated by filled.contour or image, an undesired grid is added to it (not visible on the X11 screen). For example: postscript("volcano.eps") filled.contour(volcano,col=gray(seq(0,1,,50)),levels=seq(min(volcano),max(volcano),,50)) dev.off() Any ideia how to eliminate this grid? Thanks, Rachel [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Package for variable clustering
Dear R users: is there a package, similar to varclus in SAS or varclus in S, ported or written for R? Also, is there any other package in R that was designed for grouping the variables under different measures of distance (in cases where data is non-Gaussian, autocorrelated, and so on). How to replace slashes with back slashes
Dear R-helpers I am running R2.0.0 under Windows 2000. I am compiling a number of file paths into a simple text file that will be read by some other software we use. Unfortunately, it can only handle file paths with back slashes (MS Windows convention), and from R, I get file paths with forward slashes. The following didn't work. > gsub('/', '\\',

Odd behavior with --detect-renamed
Hello, I'm totally new to this list, so I hope I don't break all the rules. :) I've looked through the archives (and google), and I really can't find the answer to my question. I'm trying out the 'detect-renamed'-patch, and I've encountered some odd behavior. I've applied the patch to both rsync-2.6.9 and rsync-3.0.0pre7, and it's the same behavior.
