R: Moran's I
Hi-
I would like to assign distance classes (lags) to the moran''s I test in R.
I donĀ¹t have equally spaced points since I was mapping shrubs across a
landscape (vs. an experiment or survey in a grid). I somehow need to
select points based on the distances in the distance matrix (i.e., I need to
select all pairs of points that occur 0-25 m from each other, 25-50 m,
etc...).

auto login and logout
I am a test engineer, testing SSH server implementation of SSH into one of
our switches.
How can I automate the login and logout of an SSH client from the command
line?
I have in a script file the following, but I get prompted for the password.
How can I automate the password and the exit.
ssh2 -l $1 $2 (ssh2 -l <username> <host ip>)

2.6.3, 2.6.4 incompatibilities
I am wondering if there are known incompatibilities
between 2.6.3 and 2.6.4?
I have a debian box with 2.6.4 and a FC3 box with
2.6.3. Most of the time rsync works fine between the
two but I am running this command on FC3 box:
rsync -azvv --stats --delete
--files-from=/root/.rsb2.tmp /
nathan@debian:/home/backup/bkp.01
And I am getting this error message:

Two operators, 10 rollover lines, Cisco 7960G chanisavail problem
Here's my situation.
I have two receptionists that answer incoming lines. Each has a 7960G with
5 incoming lines each. I'm trying to set this up so each line on each phone
doesn't utilize call waiting. My problem seems to be that
ChanisAvail(Sip/cisco1&Sip/cisco2&Sip/cisco3&Sip/cisco4&Sip/cisco5) always
returns cisco1.
Here are the sip.conf entries: (mind you,

rsync 2.6.6 nasty bug?
I believe I have encountered a nasty bug with rsync 2.6.6
"--delete-excluded" option. When this is enabled, rsync''s operation
appears to break entirely.
I have a script that I''ve been using for a few years. The script
hasn''t changed in the last year or so. Recently I upgraded from
SuSE 9.3 to SUSE 10.0 which means that I went from rsync 2.6.3 (+

tm: custom reader for readPlain
Hello:
I have a series of newspaper articles from a Canadian newspaper database (Canadian Newsstand) that look just like below.
I've read through this vignette (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/tm/vignettes/extensions.pdf) about creating a custom reader to extract meta-data, but I can't understand how to apply this in the context of a text document, rather than in the tabular format

lattice and fitted function error
Platform: WIN2000
Version of R: 1.6.2
I'm interested in plotting fitted values in a trellis xyplot. I believe the
following should work; however, I only get the points (not the fitted
lines).
library(lattice)
trellis.device(bg="white")
xyplot(MULTDV~TIME|SUBNUM,data=TEMP,
panel=function(x,y){
panel.xyplot(x,y)
lines(x,fitted(lm(y~poly(x,1),na.action=na.omit)))

Question about BUILTIN\Administrators and BUILTIN\Users nested groups in 3.3.3
Sorry about the dumb question:
Are the "BUILTIN\Administrators" and "BUILTIN\Users" local (nested) groups
supposed to be populated with DOMAINNAME\Domain Administrators and
DOMAINNAME\Domain Users (respectively) by default? If I download the Redhat
Samba package, they are populated. Not so with a compiled version.
I've had a helluva time populating BUILTIN\Administrators

Unix install question.
Is there anyway to merge the users accounts (passwd/shadow) on our UNIX
machine to create a default sampasswd file. We have close to 11,000 UNIX
accounts and would like to use samba's domain login features. We are just not
sure how to merge the current users into the samba's passwd list.
Or is there another way to do this???
Thanks,

Reading in multiple files
I apologize if this is a FAQ -- I kind of recall seeing something along
these lines before, but I couldn't find the message when I searched the
archives.
Problem:
1. I have hundreds of small files in a subdirectory ("c:\\temp") and I would
like to combine the files into a single data frame.
2. Individually, it is easy to read each file

Extracting Vectors from Lists of Lists Produced by Functions
If you found my subject heading to be confusing then I'm sure you'll enjoy
the example I've included below. I find the apply type functions to be
wonderful for avoiding loops but when I use them with existing functions, I
end up using loops anyway to extract the vectors I want. I would appreciate
it if someone could show me how to avoid these loops. Thanks.
