Rsync Performance In Windows
Has anyone else experienced high CPU usage when using RSYNC in windows 2000 server? I am using the rsync.exe (and applicable DLL's) from the cygwin installation (I am not however running cygwin on this machine). The linux machine connecting to the windows rsync daemon has a very low performance hit when the session is running (see below). However, the windows machine, which has a much

Failed rsync -- two different files considered up to date
Hi, I've used rsync successfully for several years, syncing between two Windows 2000 servers using daemon mode, but today I stumbled accross something peculiar. I'm using cygwin with rsync 2.6.0 at both ends (the latest available at this date) and I have a file that rsync considers up to date even though both the md5 and a normal diff show differences. I've tried calling rsync

rsync over ssh performance problem in cygwin
Hello! We have strange problem with rsync performance. We do files syncronization from w2k (cygwin, rsync 2.5.6) over ssh to Linux (rsync 2.5.5). We have several 10Mb files. First time, when directory on Linux is empty, all looks OK- syncronization takes about 10 minites. But when we try to do this second time, i.e. with files on Linux and windows, synconization takes more than 10 minites

If more than one speaker receives the *same* signal, it doesn't matter the number of speakers. It only gets tricky when the speakers are playing slightly different signals (e.g. from a stereo song). Performance and Optimization
The reasons I have posted these questions are: 1) To find out if Speex can take advantage of SIMD extensions. 2) To maybe learn from someone with previous experience in optimizing Speex for moderns x86 architectures before I set off trying all kinds of things on my own. See answers inline: 2009/6/15 Tom Grandgent <tom at grandgent.com> > Why haven't you tried using release build

I actually forgot to mention that I'm using ultra-wideband mode, but seems like you understood that anyway. Is this true that Speex echo cancellation only performs well in narrowband mode !? I've been using 100 ms as the default tail length. I don't know what the ideal tail length would be. I have tried shorter and longer tails but it hasn't made any difference. Does

Robocopy, archive bit and ACLs
Hello, I'm attempting to set up a daily Robocopy task on a Windows Server 2016 to duplicate a large directory tree -- including data, timestamps and ACLs -- to a Samba 4.5.12 server. This is my Robocopy command: Robocopy.exe C:\source \\foo\bar /XA:SH /XJ /MIR /NODCOPY /COPY:DTSO /A+:A /ZB I noticed that for a significant number of files, Robocopy will systematically identify them as

backup NT box to SAMBA box using xcopy, smbclient, robocopy, or DD command ???
What is the best way to backup my NT 4.0 Server box that is only 8GB to my NEW SAMBA file server that I have added to the domain? Xcopy? Smbclient? Robocopy? DD command in Linux? I found some good info. on Google about Robocopy that is supposed to be great and will paste the information below. Also, can someone SEND me the latest copy of ROBOCOPY VERSION 1.92 please. I have a really old

Rsyncing Problem with - character!
Dear Rsync Users, Please can I have a bit of rsync advice? I am trying to rsync a file called. 'Draft text - with Holley comments.doc' from machine a to machine b. Unfortunately this isn't working because I think rsync recognises the - character and thinks it's an option. I have tried escaping this out as well as putting it all in " " but neither seems to work

Dreaded ERROR 5 In Robocopy
I'm still battling the dreaded "ERROR 5 (0x00000005)" error when trying to robocopy files from a W2K box to Samba 3.0.7 on FreeBSD. I've been fighting this since Samba 2.2.8 and the upgrade hasn't fixed it for me despite the entries in the changlelog. Now here's the strange part. If robocopy is sending NEW files, files which are on W2K but not on the Samba box, the copy

Copying (Samba -> WinXP SP2) MATLAB generated .jpg files very slow.
Greetings, This is a interesting problem. One of our researchers uses MATLAB to generate jpg files as part of his vision research. When he copies these files from the file server, it is very slow. I tried 3.0.28a and I see the same problem as we have with 3.0.28. Here are some interesting stats. 1) MATLAB generated files: command: robocopy Y:\23_1 C:\23_1 /e dirs: 2 files: 262 bytes:

Need SMB server / client tuning help
Although we reached out to Hitachi support, we didn't specifically request for the smb.conf file from them. As a result, we're uncertain about the status of their Samba version, whether it's in standard or mangled form, and whether they're capable of providing us with the smb.conf file. I was wondering if there are any specific parameters or information that we should check from

Debugging robocopy error 87 - The parameter is incorrect
Hi, I have Samba 4.6 running on FreeBSD 11.1 with a ZFS file system. Trying to use robocopy to mirror files from Windows 8.1. Most of the files are copied without any issues, but a few fail with the following error in the robocopy log: ERROR 87 (0x00000057) Copying File <path> The parameter is incorrect. Robocopy is executed with the following options: /X /NDL /S /E /DCOPY:DAT /COPY:DAT

AEC troubleshooting
First of all, thank you for your input Tim. That is very helpful. I would love to hear from other people with experience of AEC and Speex. I guess I have to split my question into to parts now. 1. Is it a fact that using the windows multimedia API (wave audio) for audio capture and playback makes it impossible to do echo cancellation with Speex AEC or other EC method due to inprecise timing? I

Abysmal performance with Samba 4 and Windows Explorer
I'm experiencing extremely slow performance when trying to copy files from and to a samba 4 share. I'm using Debian and the Samba 4 SerNet packages and everything is up to date on the client as well as on the server. The connection is made through 100Mbp/s ethernet, but the problem also exists on a local virtual machine that runs on the Debian server. By extremely I mean really abysmal:

I believe there is a documentation error regarding speex_preprocess_ctl(preprocess_state, request, ptr); The manual states: SPEEX_PREPROCESS_SET_DENOISE Turns denoising on(1) or off(2) SPEEX_PREPROCESS_SET_AGC Turns automatic gain control (AGC) on(1) or off(2) I noticed that setting a value of 0 turns the setting off.
