Exclude option not working
Hi , Hope you are doing good. I am Madhavan from India . I was trying to implement the wonderful rsync concept in my project for file mirroring. I implemented the functunality but the only problem I am facing is in the * exclude* directory option. Though I am trying to exclude the directory by giving proper syntex for exclude but I find once the whole rsync is completed the directory still gets

SIGUSR1 or SIGINT error
Howdy, We occassionally get the following error when running our nightly backups: rsync error: received SIGUSR1 or SIGINT (code 20) at rsync.c(229) This happens more on one or two machines than on any of the others. We've looked high and low to see if we're mistakenly sending these signals, but nothing is that we can find. Does anyone know what this might be from? Is it the server

Rsync 3
Hi Everyone, We want to use the rsync 3 for incremental file transfer of our File system from one box to another, however there are about a million files to be copied, so just wanted to know by any one of your's previous experience with rsync 3, will these many files get copied at first time and incrementally in the subsequent run of the crontab. Replies will be much appreciated. Thanks in

rsync hangs in read_int (generator.c line 498)
Hello I'm having a heck of a time rsync'ing (is that the proper conjugation? :)) between two Cygwin machines. I have three directory trees that are "exposed" via rsynch. Two of the three have a very shallow structure, and they work fine. The third, however, has a fairly deep structure and many more files than the other two, and rsync'ing this directory causes a hang on

rsync problem behind a router
I have used rsync on many systems, and never had a problem. I am stumped on what to do with this. I have a box behind a LinkSys router and I can not "push" or "pull" data to or from it from anywhere. When I try, it logs into the remote server, gets the file list and just stops. The remote server shows a process running until I control-c out of it.when I do that, I get: rsync

Rsync Hangs 100% of the time when copying files from win2k machin es to linux
Hey guys, I've been working with rsync for the last couple weeks and I really need some help here. Linux to Linux transfers are working beautifully, but for the life of me I can't get transfers from win2k to work. I have the exact problem that was reported by Mark de Jong on Tue, 16 Jul 2002. I'm using the lastest version of cygwin, with rsync 2.5.5 and ssh 3.5p1 for my tests. The

Spinning mongrels and SIGUSR1
First off: Our clusters are LVS balanced Apache 2.2.3 + mod_proxy_balancer + gem mongrel 0.3.13.3 / mongrel_cluster 0.2 + memcached / gem memcache_client + gem rails 1.1.6 on debian boxen, and a pgcluster backend. On 2 of our deployed clusters, we are getting the "spinning mongrel" problem. As the clusters are very low volume right now, it takes days to collect a spinner, making it

Background R session on Unix and SIGINT
Can you give an example without callr? The key is how is the process stated and what it is doing which is entirely opaque in callr. Windows doesn't have signals, so the process there is entirely different. Most of the WIN32 processing is event-based. rsync stuck after correctly sending the file
Hi all, I'm using rsync to replicate a cvs repository, it is working quite good except that I occassionnaly see rsync stucked after having transfered a file, it is always on a big ,v file containing multiple version of big binary file. I haven't gathered the netstat information on the frozen process (it is not easy to reproduce the problem), but I have the strace information : - the

OpenSSH, Cygwin, eXceed, and SIGINT
All, When logging into an HP-UX 10.2 system from a Windows NT machine running Cygwin and openssh 2.9p2, control-c sends a sigint to the ssh client on the NT system, thus killing the ssh process. Interestingly enough, this behavior is only observed when using X11 forwarding. I can eliminate the behavior by changing clientloop.c to ignore SIGINT (signal(SIGINT, SIG_IGN) ) but then I'm bak to

A Simon pointed out the interrupt is recorded but not processed until a safe point. When reading from a fifo or pipe R runs non-interactive, which means is sits in a read() system call and the interrupt isn't seen until sometime during evaluation when a safe checkpoint is reached. When reading from a terminal R will use select() to wait for input and periodically wake and check for

Gabor, I think you're talking about two independent things. You can interrupt the computation, no question about that. It's just that if you send an interrupt while you're *not* doing any computations, it will be signaled but not raised until the interrupts are checked since there is no one to check it. This goes back to my original response - the interactive REPL calls
