SIPURA Breaches Contract
Hi list,
Well I really didn't want to see things get to this point,
but Sherman at Sipura along with their President Jan F.
leave me no other choice.
SIPURA has been provided a letter from our attorney for
Breach of Contract and damages. They have yet to respond.
A quick background.

Dual-ISP Masq
I know this is a FAQ and that it''s been discussed much before, I''m just
looking for a few key things.
I need to setup our gateway so that traffic FROM a range of IPs is sent
out, masqueraded, via a new cable connection.
I''m running 2.6.9.
Am I going to require any of the CONNMARK patches or other patches from
http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/#routes? I''m really not sure

SMB Problem
I''m having a problem where transferring files accross our IPsec gateway
to another host on a remote network is failing. I see no packets being
rejected in the logs.
Attached is a packet trace, showing the problem. In this case,
10.100.0.0/24 is the local network and 10.100.14.0/24 is the remote
network. The trace was taken on the local gateway.
In the trace, there is a set of TCP

Multi-Hop VPN Issue looking for Solutions
I''ve just discovered that I do not have access to the remote gateways
for a set of IPsec tunnels to remote networks. This prevents me from
changing the routing table on those gateways.
I need "roadwarrior" systems connecting to me local network using
OpenVPN (tun) to be able to access those systems. Since the remote
gateways don''t know about 10.100.1.0/24, where my

R command to join data.frames rows with identical keys?
I've got two data.frames and, when certain "keys" match, I would like to add the column values from one data frame to the other data.frame.
Below I list the two data.frames, i.e. neighborhoodInfo_df, and schoolZone_df. Based on the "address" key I would like to add the "schoolZone" key to the neighborhoodInfo_df data.frame.
By any chance is there an R

Rails + postgres case insensitive searches.
Hello all
I am wondering how rails handles case sensitivity in databases. If I
do a Person.find_all_by_name("tim") in mysql I would expect to get
tim, TIm, and Tim. Do I only get tim in postgres?
How do other people deal with this? Do you resort to find_by_sql for
all your postgres queries to get case insensitive results?

Zoning Out
I''m getting my zones confused. Help.
I need to have a bunch of systems using OpenVPN to gain an IP in the
virtual subnet 10.100.1.0/24, on interface tun0.
I will then route whole subnets to those IPs, like 10.100.2.0/24 via
10.100.1.12, etc.
I want to have a policy for:
- all hosts behind tun0
- all hosts in 10.100.1.0/24
- individual subnets being routed through IPs in

Proxy-ARP on Same Segment
I have had to replace an existing setup which has a bunch of IPs
Proxy-NAT''ed onto the loc segment. While I do eventually want to move
them to their own segment, I have to deal with this for the next few weeks.
My problem is that from a loc system I can ping the public IP of a
system being proxy-ARP''d but I can''t hit it via HTTP. Nothing is being

gpg can't decrypt message
Hey guys,
Having a little gpg issue I was wondering if someone could help me with.
A friend of mine sent me an encrypted message. So I searched online and
found a a set of keys that correspond with his email address. And imported
them. But when I go to decrypt the message, this is what I get:
[root at ops:~] #gpg --decrypt roger-message

text file output
Hello,
I would like to create an ascii text file that looks exactly like the
Console output of a split() action. I have tried save, dput, dump,
write.foreign and write to no avail. The resulting text files are a
jumble of data that I would have to edit heavily in order to use it for
my proposed purpose. How can I, short of copying and pasting the
contents of the console (which will not work

DMZ Recommendations
From reading the documentation, I understand that it is recommended to
put servers that may be at risk in a DMZ served via proxy-arp. In this
case, the local clients that are behind a NAT would have their
connections to the DMZ masqueraded, yes?
Is there any way around this that would still be considered secure?
Just looking for advice.
Thanks,
A.

freeze_gems to upgrade and SVN
Hi all-
I just decided to move from my 1.1.0 to 1.1.2. I had previously frozen
to 1.1.0 and therefore had all of rails in SVN in my vendor directory.
When I finally got rake freeze_gems to work, it blasted (rm -rf) my
vendor/rails directory and put a new one in there. This also blasted
all my .svn directories.
Is there some convenient way to do a freeze upgrade and play well with
SVN?

Rails 1.1 in Production
My hosting company is still supporting only Rails 1.0. I have installed
Rails 1.1.2 to my vendor directory and deployed it in production which
should mean that my application should be using the Rails version in my

is the error from dispatch.fcgi when I try and invoke my app

OpenVPN tun Interface
I have a zone "rw" defined as tun0 in interfaces.
From that zone, pings to zone "loc" succeed but pings to remote
networks (On IPsec VPNs) are rejected in the all2all chain. From my
point of view, these pings should be in the rw2cctc chain. (rw to cctc
is ACCEPTed in policy.)
I must have a hole in my config, where would it be?
Thanks,
A.

Architecture Help: OpenVPN
(Appologies if you receive this twice, GMANE seems to have lost my
original posting.)
I currently have a setup where 20 remote networks are router through
IPsec tunnels and I am using Shorewall''s terrific support for the kernel
policy match module. I also have mobile clients using OpenVPN to connect
into our head office network in setup bridged setup. All is good.
