Is fixpaths the only perl dependency?
Hello. I just tried to download and build the 2.3.0.p1 (portable) release with Cygwin on an NT box. It fails to build because of the use of a perl script. Cygwin does not have Perl installed by default and to be honest it seems like a bit of a stretch to require perl to be able to build shh, that just makes it harder to build. I poked around and it seems like these files depend on perl:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7 install fails -ve memory reported
Hi folks, I'm presently having my second foray into Wine. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 on a machine with 3GB memory. I'm having problems installing Dragon NaturallySpeaking 7 and would welcome some guidance. When I run "wine /media/cdrom1/autorun.exe" the install looks promising for a few moments, then an error message saying: "Your computer does not meet the minimum

SME on CentOS, telnet and MySQL
After failing to install on two different machines that were running Windows, I realized that one machine had a bad hard-drive, and the other bad memory. So I've collected the good parts into one machine and installed CentOS with SME. This was the fastest install of Linux I have every seen, 15 minutes done, configured, and running, web and email server. It is a very secure config, no GUI

saving multiple arrays from a foreach loop
Dear R-List member, I have a problem when I'm trying to save two arrays from a foreach-loop. I'm also not sure whether this is possible or just my inexperience. However, this works perferctly fine with a for-loop. Here is an example code - any help is much appreciated!!: ############ n.vpn = 2 n.run= 3 # create to empty matrices sme = matrix(NA,4,n.vpn) test = matrix(NA,4,n.vpn) #

Samba server choices
I have been running a customized version Amahi for a couple years for my Samba server. It is time for an upgrade, and I will be moving away from Amahi, as they have abandoned Fedora for Ubuntu. Back when I selected Amahi to replace my 15 year old NT server, I looked around and only considered SME Server as an alternative, but they were still on Centos 4.7 with the Centos 5 based version

AMD IOMMU + SME + amdgpu regression
Hi, amdgpu + IOMMU + SME is now working for me on 5.7, yay! But, it is broken on torvalds master, boo. On boot, depending on which exact commit I test, it either hangs immediately (with built-in driver, before starting initramfs), displays some errors then hangs, or spams the screen with many amdgpu errors. I bisected the black screen hang to: commit dce8d6964ebdb333383bacf5e7ab8c27df151218

Samba 4 "Trigger" when user is created???
I am working to deploy Samba4 on the SME Server: A customized version of Centos with a web management GUI and configuration API. One of the challenges we see is how we synchronize our SME Server configuration API with users who are created using tools outside of *nix. For example if a user were created using the windows administration tools. Are there any triggers in Samba that could be set to

[PATCH v5 39/75] x86/sev-es: Print SEV-ES info into kernel log
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de> Refactor the message printed to the kernel log which indicates whether SEV or SME is active to print a list of enabled encryption features. This will scale better in the future when more memory encryption features might be added. Also add SEV-ES to the list of features. Signed-off-by: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de> ---

Question about ssh-add...
Evenin', I would like to know, why "OpenSSH ssh-add" doesn't support the -p (pipe) option of "Ssh-1.2.X shh-add"? I used it several time within scripts, like ./whisperpassphrase | ssh-add -p Well, I know this is some kind of security by obscurity, but this has been proven to be handy. Use of xvfb : X11 cannot allocate additional graphics colors. Consider using colortype="pseudo.cube" or "gray"
Hi, I use R in remote access on a Debian server. I need X11() to create graphical things so I use xvfb-run (Virtual X server environnement) R to allowing X11() capabilities to R. An other technique is to connect in shh -X to execute my R script. With the connection ssh -X, my R script is well executed. BUT when I use Xvfb, some graphics are created but an error occured and stop the script.
