2 httpd configs
I normally don't do this - haven't got any traction on taroon list and I
want to get a backup going.
I have an RHEL 3 server and it is serving some simple web stuff
(horde/imp/etc.)
I have installed BrightStor ArcServe and I need it to also serve some
web pages. The ArcServe runs on a different port but has it's own
httpd.conf with the distribution.
The last time I did it, it was

winbind creating duplicate users
Hi everybody,
I'm having a problem with winbind creating 2 entries for some of my
users that really wrecking my head ;-/ .
My situation is as follows :
I have a typical Samba (3.0.14a)/LDAP setup. I have a trusted domain
(another Samba/LDAP setup) and use winbind to map the users from the
foreign domain, with the UID to SID mappings stored in LDAP . This works
very well.

Command line tool to test bandwidth between 2 servers
What's the best way to do this?
Daily, jpg images are added to an inhouse server.
Everynight I want to backup these images to a server offsite, via rsync.
What I want is to determine what to set the bwlimit to.
I also want to estimate how many MB's of images I can move nightly.
Thanks

registering samba in wins
for some strange reason, our wins servers occasionally drop samba
servers out of there name space. to deal with this, I cron'ed a
restart of samba at midnight everynight. This was a quick solution,
but a lousy one.
I would rather have some way to have samba regularly send name
registration requests to wins. Is there a way to do this?
barring that, is there some interface I can query on samba

Speed up rsync ,cwRsync and replay changes against a file
Hi guys,
I recently installed and setup cwRsync on a Windows 2000 Server -
http://www.itefix.no/cwrsync/ -, and I was very impressed. I just
followed the instructions on the website and got it working.
I am using it to mirror 30Gb's of mailboxes everynight (only grabbing
the changes to each file), from a Windows 2000 box to a Linux box (RH9).
The nightly replication takes approximately 8

rsync to SAMBA mount or NTFS tutorial?
Will someone please tell me where to go, and how to get there to get rsync
running to mounted windows shares or mounted NTFS volumes? I'm doing OK with
rsync-ing to EXT3 mounted volumes but the others still perplex me.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Dale

OpenSIPS on CentOS
Hello,
I've been looking into OpenSIPS to see if it's a worthwhile addition to our setup. We're currently running a cluster, using Heartbeat, between two servers. It works well but I'm interested in seeing if we can improve it. My manager heavily uses RPM's for installations rather than source, particularly using yum to update. I'm trying to actually install OpenSips via

Authentication Error Message formats
I have been using UW's IMAP server and I am converting to Dovecot for
Maildir support.
When a user fails authentication, or a user does not exist, it appears
that the same message is used for these events.
Is there a way to indicate that the user does not exist (Invalid user),
and authentication Failure (Failed Password)?
Clearly these two failures indicate a different error in the system.

Archive bit oddities
Hello everyone,
I've been scouring the web, reading documentation and experimenting with
settings and I am having no luck in getting the behavior of the archive
bit to be anywhere near expected. I have the file foo.txt in the
personal folder that has the ADS group DOMAIN USERS with read/write
capability (660). When the user jsmith (domain user) modifies the file,
the archive bit is not

Asterisk SIP Trunking with Cisco UC 560
Hello,
I'm interested in knowing if anyone out there has successfully connected
Asterisk to a Cisco UC 560 via SIP trunking? We have a client of ours that
we put in an Asterisk install, one of their sister companies who we don't
control is putting in a Cisco UC 560. From my looking I think it can be
done, but the vendor is telling them it can't. Thought I'd ask around here
and see

Transfers from Queue Calls
Hello,
I thought to post this here before my manager starts his own coding
project to give us a workaround. My situation I'm running into is as
follows:
1. A call comes into our Asterisk system, it's trunked from one office
to another via IAX.
2. Call enters a queue and is picked up by one of the agents.
3. That agent has to transfer the call, could be for a number of
reasons the client

Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 & Samba: Take Two!
Hi, gang,
There have been numerous postings, scattered across various Internet forums (including this one), about problems encountered using Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 and higher with Samba-sourced shares from *nix servers. In my particular case, I have a Windows NT Server 4.0-based backup system, which is supposed to be able to back up the other Windows systems on the LAN, plus several SPARC boxes
