remove-send-files, thanks and question
First remove-send-files is improved in the actual version
and really works better for me, removing is now more in time.
In my case I have a buggy wireless cconnection and rsyncing over night
in a loop, until rsync return 0, because often the pipe connection gets
broken.
After a complete success rsync there are files left on the sender, because
they where transfered right before loosing

[Bug 2294] Detect renamed files and handle by renaming instead of delete/re-send
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2294
--- Comment #26 from Ben RUBSON <ben.rubson at gmail.com> ---
### What's the diff between --fuzzy and --detect-renamed ?
If I understand correctly, --fuzzy looks only in destination folder, for either
a file that has an identical size and modified-time, or a similarly-named file,
and uses it as a basis file.
Whereas --detect-renamed looks

I totally agree this one. With this enhancement there would be no longer
unnecessary traffic when some user has moved / copy'ed a large directory (which
is really annoying).

Discussion about the detect-renamed patch
Hello,
I heard recently about the detect-renamed patch for rsync. I was about
to code something similar, I need it badly, but decided to give the
patch a try first. It seems to work well but it's rename detection
scheme seems to be limited. From my tests, it seems to detect that a
file has changed name only if the file remains in the same base dir. It
detects that a file has moved

Wow 10 years.
Maybe one reason this has not been implemented is there are other options.
For example I have been using a shell script as a wrapper to reduce the
iteration of this bug, here is how it works:
1) Create 2 lists of files; destination and source with the files sizes and
path
2) For each file

Odd behavior with --detect-renamed
Hello,
I'm totally new to this list, so I hope I don't break all the rules. :)
I've looked through the archives (and google), and I really can't find the
answer to my question.
I'm trying out the 'detect-renamed'-patch, and I've encountered some odd
behavior. I've applied the patch to both rsync-2.6.9 and rsync-3.0.0pre7,
and it's the same behavior.

Robustness: sometimes write times after having renamed the temp file
Hello,
Mac OS X 10.9 has the bad habit of considering a rename on an UDF FS as
a file change; that is:

-rw-r--r-- 1 gui staff 0 10 oct 2010 test

rsync.c (3.1.2), in archive mode, calls set_file_attrs *before*
renaming .file.XXXXXX to file. So, in the

--detect-renamed --detect-moved and -b
Hi,
I played around with the combination of rsync --detect-renamed
--detect-moved and -b.
Given the following tree:
src/dir/file
dest/src/dir/file
I renamed src/dir to src/dir2 and ran the following command:
rsync -a --detect-renamed --detect-moved --delete -b --backup-dir=bak src dest
ending up with:
dest/bak/src/dir/file
Is it supposed to do that? I was expecting it to detect the renamed

The letter "ש" or "a" button in hebrew is by default dosn't write the requested letter.
I have been running CentOS and I have found out that there is a key that
is not defined well.
The "a" or "?" which actually causes by a button press to a sing which
is called "new shekel" or "Shekel Chadash" which is two letters together.
What can I do to fix it? maybe someone have seen this in the past?

Samba dosn't seem to work when bridging is enabled under FreeBSD 3.4
Hi,
I have been trying to set up a network bridge on my FreeBSD 3.4 machine (hades),
and as soon as I enable the bridge, Samba stops servicing requests from both
sides of the network.
The following is a 'diagram' to give you an idea of my setup.

@article.article_groups.delete_if... Dosn't work!
If I try:
@article.article_groups.delete_if {|x|
x.group_id == x.group_id
}
It does nothing.
If I try:
articletmp.article_groups.each{ |x|
@article.article_groups.delete(y)
}
It deletes some of the groups.
@article.article_groups.clear
works.
Why dosn''t the to first examples work as expected??
Do I have to put groups I don''t want to

name does not change--just the directory path leading to it. These are often
quite large files (0.2 to

--detect-renamed question
I've started testing the detect-renamed patch with 2.6.9 and soon 3.0.0pre1. I have an unique situation where I'm rsync'ing to a HSM based filesystem. I've found that the detect-renamed patch works but it appears to do a copy of the file to the new destination. This is particular slow since the file in the HSM based filesystem may only be a stub and all the data is only resident

Simple code dosn't work
I think you have a syntactical error on the line thats throwing the
error, you state:
> j.even?should be true #throws an error on j == 2, j == 4
should this line not read as:
j.even?.should be true
