Copy from INBOX to INBOX corrupts file
Aloha, again, Timo. Concerning the problem of copying within one folder... I'm still not sure it's not a problem I created myself, but I think it's caused by the use of the buffered IO routines in ostream-file.c ... you use io_add() to schedule write operations for later while simultanously reading new chunks from the very same file. This seems to confuse dovecot and make it write

iax2-jitter-trunking?
Two cvs-head asterisk boxes with iax2 working fine (without register statements). When two calls are placed simultanously from system A -> B and the packets are sniffed on the wire, I see the two calls using two different udp packets. At the top of iax.conf I have trunk=yes and jitterbuffer=yes (at both ends). I was expecting to see both calls handled within a single udp packet, but

benchmark adn threshold
Hi all, i'd like to know if there is a tool like an injector that permits to increase progressively the load onto a Samba server. My aim is to define a threshold as the number of concurrent users connected and accessing shares simultanously on a samba3 PDC. I don't care about network transfer rate. thanks for your answer

Modèle à Equations structurelles
In my previous mail, I was asking help to fit structural equations models by using Partial Least Square (PLS) approch.I have used package plspm. I want to know how to manage moderating and mediating variables. I also want to show simultanously the graph of internal model and measurement model. Thks. MS Access and Samba
Hi, we still have some trouble running a MS Access-database on Samba. We now tried it with v.2.2.6 on RH 7.3 but still we either get no acces on the database simultanously or we run in problems with updating the database. The problem is that we make some changes on one of the clients but the changes are not visible to the other clients until they shut down the database and reopen it. We

Non-audio applications
Hi, I work for a company which makes meteor and wind radar (http://www.gsoft.com.au). On occasion (ie during meteor showers such as the Leonids) we configure the system to save raw data as it comes out of the acquisition system, the data rate for this varies (depends on acquisition parameters and number of coherent integrations etc), but usually it is around 600kb/sec. The data consists of 16

Odd behavior
Hi Y'all, I'm seeing some interesting behavior that I was hoping someone could shed some light on. Basically I'm trying to rsync a lot of files, in a series of about 60 rsyncs, from one server to another. There are about 160 million files. I'm running 3 rsyncs concurrently to increase the speed, and as each one finishes, another starts, until all 60 are done. The machine

Is there a way to cache a file system listing?
I have a filesystem that has roughly ~600,000 files on it and every time a new client rsyncs this tree (after 10-20 minutes when the cache has expired) then it takes 5-10 minutes to re-traverse the tree during a new rsync. Is there a way, other than running find /path every minute or so, to keep the listing in memory so the rsyncs would run much faster?

Keeping Multiple Rsyncs Separate
I have noticed that if you run two rsyncs at once, they get confused and copy the files from one the wrong rsync thread. Apparently this is because of the ?Build List? that is made in ram. Two build lists stepping on each other. Does anyone know how to change the source so that the each build list in ram is kept separate?

Turning off "Fixed Duplicates" feature
Is there a way to disable this feature? Seems to be causing more harm then good right now. Without getting into too much details it is fixing the duplcates but it does not remove the old file, and the new file it creates is not marked as read like the old one was. I understand that this problem can be created by multiple rsyncs and files changing in between, but is there any way that I can

Multiples rsyncs with multiple sshs...CPU overload
Hello Folks, I am using rsync 2.4.6 over ssh on Solaris 2.6 machines. It's been working great for months keeping three DMZ ftp servers in sync...now, though, I am trying to implement a new solution with DMZ and "inside" ftp servers. Basically, I want to sync files being ftp'ed to the DMZ server over to an "inside" machine, and since some processing (decryption) then

Rsync to remote host much faster than 10k/sec speeds on local rsync
I run several remote rsyncs off a CentOS 4 server and also back up between two drives on the same server. Performance is far better on the remote rsyncs and the local rsync only manages 10k/sec despite being on modern hardware. Here are the stats from a local backup: Number of files: 979548 Number of files transferred: 2289 Total file size: 24703651523 bytes Total transferred file size:

Seemingly impossible bug: -v not always listing every copied file
Hi, debian-9, rsync-3.1.2 (both ends) I have a task that rsyncs files from a list of candidate files (--files-from=). It's verbose (-v) and its stdout is captured to a file which is then sent to the receiving host. The captured verbose output is examined on the receiving host to know which files were actually copied so that notification emails can be sent to various people. The problem is

Huge directory tree: Get files to sync via tools like sysdig
Hi, we have a huge directory tree. * 17M files (number of files) * 2.2TBytes of data. * Only 0.1% changes per day Current pain: rsyncs directory tree traversal needs to long to discover the changed files. Only few files change. I discovered the tool sysdig which could be used to monitor the files which were changed. Then we could feed the list of changed files to rsync and avoid the

Optional filter files
Is it possible to call rsync and tell it to use a filter file if it exists, but otherwise continue without errors? If I pass "--filter=. .rsync-filter", it will fail if .rsync-filter doesn't exist. I know you can pass "--filter=: /.rsync-filter" to search for filter files in each directory. That won't fail if there aren't any such files. But I'm only
