Long file names
I believe this post I found is related to a problem I'm having with long
files names...I would like to use cwRsync, does my problem suggest this
is still happening and has not been addressed?

However, I have long file name issues using rsync 2.6.6 from a BSD
server to the default Cygwin rsync 2.6.6. Should I (and how do I) apply

HLS enabled mounts
Hi Robert,
Unfortunately I am not replying to answer your question but to ask a question on pre-roll. I am working on a similar project but still at the configuration stages. For some reason my intro file is not being played. I am also using Icecast 2.4.4 and have four mount points on one relay server. I am trying to use my intro file on only one mount point. I am also doing mp3 not HLS.

Cygwin rsync to RH rsync server
Hi all,
I'm new to the rsync list. I've been searching for two days and have
tried five different installs and so far none work the way I need them
to.
I have an "backup" server running rsync --version:

HLS enabled mounts
I second that advice. Also when you reference your file in intro do this <intro>/Sonic.mp3 </intro> . As long as it is in the folder you don’t need the whole path.

rsync hangs on big transfer Debian 5.0.3 pulling from WinXP SP3/ Cygwin 1.5.25
Debian Users, Cygwin, & Rsync:
I'm having trouble with rsync invoked on Debian 5.0.3 pulling files from
Windows XP SP3/ Cygwin 1.5.25. I posted to the Debian User and Cygwin
mailing lists [1] and thought I was done two days ago, but I wasn't --
after several hours of use of the Windows machine, rsync would again
hang on Debian.
To summarize, rsync pulls in perhaps 1,000 files from

(CYGWIN) Rsync Stalling Upon first file transfer.
Rsync will recieve the file list, and discover the files to consider, and then stalls out on the first actual file transfered.
0 bytes 0kB/s. On the recieving server, the DLGDiagv504f.exe file is named .dlgdiagv504.f.exe.7dd0oa and is only 512 kb. The rsync process still runs after this, like it's in an idle mode.
It's not just this file, its been a number of different files.

rsync plus cygwin: language problems with filenames
I know this problem has been posted before, but I have been unable to
find a solution on this list or anywhere else on the net. Let me review.
First, here is my setup:
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2
Rsync: 2.6.6-1
Cygwin: 2.510.2.2
Whenever I transfer any file that has Japanese characters in it, the
following message appears in the screen output:

buffer overflow in receive_file_entry
I have rsync 2.6.6 on unix source to a cygwin setup on a Windows 2003
server. Was working well, then I moved a folder down one subdirectory
and started getting the following. I assume this means it is having
problems with the length of the file name? I have the same problem with
long file names using cwRsync. Are there any options other than
modifying the file names?

HLS enabled mounts
We use Icecast version 2.4.4 and recently added an intro (preroll) to
one of our channels. Although we haven't had any direct complaints,
there has been a discussion thread with some of our public radio
colleagues getting complaints about users receiving a repeat of the
intro many times when their device switches from WiFi to LTE or unstable
Internet connections.

TCP_NODELAY in Cygwin port
Hello SSH developers,
I am sorry if this is not really a bug, and I am missing something, but I am running into an issue with port forwarding in SSH. I am using 3.4p1 of SSH on both sides.
I am running the ssh daemon on a Slackware Linux 8.0 machine, and the ssh client is running in Cywgin version 1.3.13. The ssh client is creating about 7 port forwards in a mix of local and remote forwarding

using Rterm under cygwin, no possiblity to delete characters
Dear R-users,
When I call Rterm from cygwin, I have no options but typing the exact syntax
the first time. If I happen to hit the "delete" key (backspace), R dies when
I press enter saying :
Error: ... (error concerning the function on the last line of text)
Execution halted
Perhaps some of you have experienced this and found work arounds? One has to
be pretty good to type without

No idea, as I cannot run objdump -h on a object file that I couldn't
build :)
Anyhow, I have an old, successful Debug+Asserts build of clang, made
with Mingw also, for clang revision 206070. Apparently, the ASTContext.o
file there contained 16453 sections, not 33066, as

Inheriting security permissions from target directory with Cygwin
I am trying to upload a directory structure with rsync via ssh from one
domain to another. I would like the target files (which may or may not
already exist on the target machine) to assume the security permissions of
the target directory they are placed into, since the target machine lies in
a different domain.
Currently, when I upload these files they seem to assume some strange random
