Samba domain time sync woes (Debian Bookworm)
FWIW, I looked at the settings in our domain (all of which I did myself).
I used to explicitly set up ntp time sources in our network for all windows
workstations before, and I continued to provide these after conversion from
nt4-style domain to samba AD-DC. The NTP records are provided by DHCP, and
are configured in the GPO, both with regional differences (choosing the local
NTP servers within

possible bug rsync-2.5.5 rsyncd.conf option "max connections"
Hello,
I think i may have found a bug in the "max clients" option in rsyncd.conf
[we use rsync-2.5.5; All platforms I tried (Irix-6.5.14 and various linux
flavours) show the behaviour explained below]
The manpage says:

special control 16
Hi
What is special control 16?
I am getting this error quite often --
special control 16, then for some reason it puts on hold and then logs is full of Asked to transmit frame type ulaw, while native formats is 0x8 (alaw) read/write = 0x8 (alaw)/0x8 (alaw)
Both peer and trunk have same codec priority (disallow=all then allow=alaw then alllow=ulaw)
Any ideas how to fix this ?

the same server_user (hughes) (etc. ssh pnguy) without a password
required. My .rhosts, .shosts in /users/hughes/.ssh

Need some honest feedback for my project
Hey everyone. I need some feedback and suggestions on where to take a
project I am working on.
Reason I am asking here is that the ultimate decision will be mine when we
decide, and I need to make sure I make the right decision.
We are trying to decide on a solution for our company. We are currently a
company of 40 employees running as a workgroup. We are going to grow to
over 100 employees

dates() is a great date function in R
Proper calendar dates in R are great for plotting and calculating.
However for the non-wonks among us, they can be very frustrating.
I have recently discussed the pains that people in my lab have had
with dates in R. Especially the frustration of bringing date data into R
from Excel, which we have to do a lot.
Please find below a simple analgesic for R date importation that I

[LLVMdev] a question about LLCO
Hi Terry,
Reid is exactly right about the benefits of static (link-time)
optimization for whole programs. When all libraries are available, it
could alllow significantly better optimization without run-time
overhead.
But it is increasingly common today for libraries to be dynamically
linked. In these cases, you could get the benefits of LLVM
optimization in two ways, *if* you compile the

[LLVMdev] binary release would be great
You know what I would really love? I set of pre-built
llvm binaries. Either for Windows or RedHat.
IIUC, the cygwin nightly build hasn't succeeded since
March, and the latest download on illuvium.net predates
that. I'd love to be able to try out 1.6, but having to build
my own compiler to build it is a substantial barrier. I know
there are binaries for the gcc frontend, which is cool,
but

Serious noob question. Any help would be great
Hi All,
I''m working on building an app that can log and edit phone call
information. I''ve got the creating and editing parting working great,
and I''ve started an attempt to add searching. I can''t seem to figure
out how to get an [:id] parameter from a form and passed between two
controller methods. Right now I have a web page with a single text

QueryParser : some remarks
Hi to all,
First, I would like to say a big thank you for the work which was done
on my 'wish bug' to allow mapping one field to multiple prefixes
(http://www.xapian.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=93).
That's great!
I have upgraded to 1.0.4 and I am revisiting my code, replacing the php
query parser I wrote with Xapian's one.
Everything works well, but I have some

date conversion not as i would have expected
Good day, i imported some data into R from Excel. By using the edit()
function, this is what one of the dates looks like in R:
> x <- structure(1254351600, class = c("POSIXt", "POSIXct"), tzone = "")
[1] "2009-10-01 BST"
However, when i do the following, the date changes:

Whoops, that's supposed to be attributed to me as author if we keep this
patch separate from your work (I was still attributing it to you when I
had squashed it into your earlier patches, so this was a rebase artifact).
