Debian and Samba Teams:
I'm having a really weird problem with Samba 3.0Beta2+RC4 on my Debian
Sarge (testing) system with Quickbooks Pro 2002 multi-user
version.
The version of my question is: Does anybody know what the proper global,
share, and permissions settings should be to support multi-user Quickbooks
on a Samba share?
The Long Version:

Authenticating a Red Hat Linux 9 machine to a Windows 2003 native AD Domain
The article at http://windows.ittoolbox.com/documents/document.asp?i=1893
is a little dated.
Digital signing is also required in my AD, something this article said was
not available at time of writing (06/13/03) but would be incorporated into
the final release of Samba v3.
My machine is a mail server, so the file/print sharing will not be used
initially. Would just like to have a way to

Again I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all those
working so selflessly on the development of R for us all to use it

[PATCH v2 resubmit] virtio-balloon: Disable free page reporting if page poison reporting is not enabled
Do I need to resubmit this patch? It has been over two weeks now since
it was originally submitted, and a week and a half since I last sent
out an email following up. I'm just wondering if there is some list I
missed as I am assuming the maintainers and lists I contacted here are
correct? It looks like we are at RC7 now so I am worried this won't
make it in before LInus releases 5.7.

design question - multiple form resubmit problem.
Hello,
My question has to do with a form resubmit problem. Say for example a form
is submitted and within that form, a picture is uploaded. If the user
presses the Back buttom and gets back to the form submission sheet, and then
clicks on resubmit, once again, the same data is populated into my tables
wasting space (another picture upload for no reason in a separate row).
Now, I know there are

Working UPS report: Geek Squad GS-700U (Cyberpower clone?)
Hi,
I wanted to report some success with monitoring this UPS, a "Geek Squad"
brand GS-700U that I purchased earlier this year from Best Buy Canada.
Information about this... thing is very scarce so here is what I know:
The unit itself is probably made by Cyberpower. It has a 9-pin serial
port on the UPS, as well as a serial-USB adapter thing. I cracked open

Duplicate Mails
Hi,
due to some idiot not being able to configure his Exchange server
correctly, this list has been swamped by loads of duplicate mails.
There were still several hundreds of mails awaiting delivery to this list.
I have removed all of those from the mail queue - so if you are missing
a mail you have sent, please resubmit it, it probably was lost while I
cleaned the queue as I had no way of

Fisher is not the only person that it may be necessary

side comments that Bill Venables is wont to make.
Now to the parallel universe that I have in mind. I wonder
whether the time is opportune for a list that focuses on

other statistical methodology lists is that it will be

Samba mapped drive to XP on logon
Hi-
I'm having a recurring problem with Windows XP and a Samba share on
logon. More specifically, I have a Samba (v 3.0.24 on Debian Etch)
share with share permissions (not a domain) mapped to a drive in Windows
XP Pro. Whenever someone logs onto an XP Pro computer in the network
the drive isn't there.
Here's an example: Say there's a document on the shared drive and a
