Question About Rsync on HP-UX
Hi All:
I thought the default behaviour for Rsync was that it would only
overwrite
destination files that have a lesser date than the source file. Instead
I
have this:

[/csapps115/IBMHTTPD/content-external/cna/html/meet]: ls -al meet.html
-rwxr-xr-x 1 ibmhttpd ibmhttpd 30151 Jul 9 2002 meet.html

What would the ideal server setup be?
I have one dedicated server for all my various projects (both PHP as
well as Rails) and will be getting a second server to run only the Rails
apps on.
What is the ideal server setup in terms of RAM vs. Processor Speed (more
RAM or more processor speed?) and should I use Apace, lighttpd, mongrel,
or what?
I''ve got the money to afford something pretty solid...just don''t know

is support for non-ASCII filenames in rsync complete?
Hi there
Over the years there's been many people saying how files with non-ASCII
charsets got their filenames "corrupted" moving between different
systems. So I'm wondering what the current state is with rsync-3.06+?
ie I want to use rsync-3.06+ to backup WinXP+ (and MacOS?) filesystems
by using native versions of rsync clients to a remote Linux-based rsyncd
process. If I do

Upgrade from 2.3.1 to 2.6.6 fail
Hi all,
I upgrade my rsync from 2.3.1 to 2.6.6 today in the client host, everything
seems not working after the migration.
I didn't touch the rsync server.
Herewith is the log from my rsync server. I looks like something related to
IPV6, anyone has any idea?
Rsync Server : RHEL4 with rsync 2.6.3 deamon running
Rsync Client (merlin) : Solaris 8 with rsync 2.6.6

HW Question (TDM400)
Hi, all
Did anyone tried TDM400 card on old main board (Intel 440LX chipset -- PII)? The reason I am asking is because TDM400 needs PCI2.2 and main board is PCI2.1
I do not want to upgrade yet.
Thanks,
Rudolf

RSA SecurID and CentOS5
I am attempting to get our RSA SecurID tokens working in CentOS:
http://www.rsa.com/node.aspx?id=1177
Has anyone had any experience with this? I know CentOS is not supported but
one would think that it could be easily implemented...
Here's the error I'm receiving:

syslinux-3.36-pre8 feedback
Tested floppy boot on two machines (one PII 350, one 486DX4)
Floppy boot with syslinux is very very slow, more than 18 mn to boot a linux
kernel from floppy on the 2 machines.
Tested with 3 different disquettes that were know to work, boot is reached
after this very long time.
Noise from floppy head make think floppy wait approximatly one minute
between each read.
No problem with pxe boot with

There is one? I do not find it in either etch or sid (or on

Off topic
Hello,
I''m going to be helping a friend setup Shorewall in place of his Cisco
router on his home network. Shorewall will be acting as the router/firewall
gateway for internet access for his home LAN. His connection to the ISP is
via PPPOE. Nothing unfamiliar here to me. It will be a standard 2 interface
setup.
My curiosity was peaked when he said that he is going to be installing

Speex compile/rpmbuild issue on x86_64
Not sure if it is just my configuration but building the RPM on Centos
x86_64 fails. Also not sure if this is to be fixed in the Makefile or in
the configure.
The rpm compile proceeds apace until the build reaches the %files
section. Here it uses the _libdir directive to look for the libraries
that have just been compiled. However in an x86_64 environment the
_libdir directive points to lib64

oops 2.2.19 ext3 0.0.6b prune_dcache
Hi,
i am seeing an oops (every couple of days) on a UP PII system with
SCSI disks, Kernel 2.2.19 and ext3 0.0.6b.
All oops output passed the klogd thus i cant anymore pipe it through
ksymoops - I ensured klogd got the correct System.map so the result
should be reliable.
