Password Option for Windows OpenSSH
I am newbie to OpenSSH and have a question on providing password during a client log in session. I am using OpenSSH for Windows(XP) version 3.81p1. Is this the latest version for windows? >From the archive list I gather that OpenSSH will not provide a password option while invoking ssh commands, is this true? or will this be included in the future releases? I read something about using

CopSSH changes directory permission
Hi, I am seeing a strange behavior on windows XP pro with CopSSH installed. Every time I run the activate.sh and create a ssh account and subsequently when attempted to delete the folder or any files in the folder windows doesn't seem to allow any change to the directory. To fill in some background info here's what I am doing. I am changing the root directory for the SSH user by changing

[PATCH 00/17] Btrfs-progs: some receive related patches
Most fixes are trivial. The one from Alex is fixing a real bug that several users have reported. Alex sent the patch half a year ago and it was not yet integrated. The patch "Use /proc/mounts instead of /etc/mtab" is a repost. The patch "btrfs-receive optionally honors the end-cmd" is a preparation step to allow backup tools to multiplex a single communication stream (e.g. a

rsync over ssh question
Hello, I'm trying to make rsync work over ssh. I've read several possibilities how to do this, but I haven't succeeded so far. Here's what I want to accomplish : Internet server <==== SSH Tunnel over the Internet ==> Firewall <-----rsync ----> Backup server (rsync & SSH client) (SSH server) (rsync daemon) In plain text : - I want

Using Augeas type to update sshd_config's AllowGroups
Hey gang, I seem to be having a brain disconnect on how to get the Augeas type to manage things that have multiple values (i.e. an Augeas tree) via Puppet. If I run this in augtool: augtool> set /files/etc/ssh/sshd_config/AllowGroups/1000 sshuser augtool> save I see this in /etc/ssh/sshd_config: AllowGroups sshuser However, if I try this in an Augeas type: augeas {

[PATCH v1 0/2] Btrfs-progs: commands "resolve inode" and "resolve logical"
The kernel patch series just sent (Subject: "Btrfs: scrub: print path to corrupted files and trigger nodatasum fixup") introduces two new ioctls to do in-kernel filesystem path construction. This series provides the corresponding userspace changes, adding two new commands to the btrfs utility: -- btrfs resolve inode [-v] <inode> <path> resolves an <inode> to all

Dovecot UIDs and POP.

compiling a non-pae dom0 on a dell r710 with too much ram
Hi, I''ve got a brand spankin new dell r710 with loads of memory on it, except that I really want it to behave more like an older machine with only 4G of RAM. I''ve been trying to compile a dom0 without PAE for it and can''t seem to have much success. I''ve constantly modified the kernel config to turn off PAE and it either gets clobbered when I do a make

A little patch
I' ve write a little patch for rsync. I'm not a programmer but when I mirror pas cooker package of mandrake, I want to the file for 15 days, even if the file has been delete on the server. I add the option --heeptime=x where x is the time of validity in second after it creation. But I don't want to keep very large file: --keepmaxsize=y where y is the maximum size for a file in

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Good tips. Although I have used llvm-link to merge .bc files together, I guess -flto could optimize the resultant .bc file further. As for the assembly, yes it is an issue. Anyway, I'll try to address those sources which are available for being translated into .bc first. Thanks for your advice, Tim. Why there is a difference in MaxAuthTries behavior ?
Hi, I understand MaxAuthTries is a parameter used to restrict the maximum number of authentication attempts. But I notice a difference in behavior when run from different client versions. The MaxAuthTries at the server side is 6. The server side is running OpenSSH 6.6 version. When wrong password is given from an openssh client 6.1 version, it disconnects after 3 attempts. When wrong

dsync “destination” argument
Hello, Some code that I didn?t write but am maintaining passes a local script?s path as dsync?s ?destination? argument, like so: dsync -D -u john -v backup -R -1 "/code/dsync_client.pl" 127.0.0.1 john at mydomain.org dsync_client.pl establishes a TCP connection with a remote dsync process then acts as a proxy between the two dsync processes. ?127.0.0.1? and ?john at mydomain.org?

What to install/configure?
Hi railers, (railers? Rails-ers? How do you folks refer to yourselves?) I''m brand spankin'' new to most of this. I''m just learning ruby, just learning rails, just learning MySQL, and really just learning about Apache/CGI-type stuff. I have a long background with UNIX sysadmin and scripting (lots and lots of Perl and Bash), so the ruby is coming fast (and

How to source files from a search path?
Suppose some environment variable (say MY_R_INC) has a number of paths. I want to source some file relative to some path in $MY_R_INC (just as #include in C++ does, which looks for header file in a number of directories). I RSiteSearch'ed, but I don't find any function that satisfies my need. Could somebody let me know if I overlooked something?
