preserve ctimes of *unchanged* directories on receiver
'rsync -a' updates the ctime on a directory even if no file in that directory
has changed. A kind of workaround is to use '-O', but then the mtimes of
directories are not preserved.
(Usage example where this is important: maintain a copy of filesystem A in
filesystem B, and use filesystem B as the source for incremental backups

imaptest, with options!
I hacked some command line options into imaptest.
I dont think I broke it..
Place into dovecot-source root as usual and compile with:
gcc imaptest.c -o imaptest -Wall -W -I. -Isrc/lib -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
src/lib/liblib.a
As per Timo's instructions.
# imaptest -h imaptest [USER at IP:PORTNO] [pass=PASSWORD] [mbox=MBOX]

backup option
Hi,
I have question about the behavior of --backup-dir with
--delete-after option.
In my testing with version 2.6.4, it appears that the backup
option only backups altered files. Files that will be deleted on the
destination system will NOT be placed in --backup-dir location. I would
like to back up deleted files. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

Counting question
Hi All,
Here is something that sounds simple, but I'm having trouble getting it. I
have a data frame with two columns, the first is date and the second is
employee ID. I'd like to plot date on the horizontal axis, employee ID on
the vertical axis, and the number of times the employee appears for the
given date as a color. I've kluged something where I make a table
(table(date, id))

Vector Manipulation
Greetings,
I wonder if someone could point me towards a more elegent solution than
what I"ve kluged together. I have a vector "samp1" of 296 integers.
They are sorted in ascending order and the numbers range from 177 to
228,953. I'd like to specify N non-overlapping intervals covering the
range from 0 to 229,354 and then for each range, count the number of
integers from samp1

rsync doesn't delete unreferenced directories.
I'm using rsync to backup multiple directories, i.e.
rsync -azq --delete --relative /dog /cat /fish user@rsync-server::modulename
Everything works fine, except if I remove a directory from the list of
those being backed
up, it isn't deleted on the other side. For example:
rsync -azq --delete --relative /dog /cat /fish user@rsync-server::modulename
/dog /cat /fish are all backed up to

[PATCH 0/3] Xen related fixes
Hi all,
I have few simple fixes for Xen for the next release:
- the first one fixes a regression in qemu-char;
- the second one is just a cleanup (that is needed to simplify preprocessor
dependencies);
- the last one avoids setting nonblocking on Xen (as is already done for
KVM).
The last two patches should be backported to older branches.

Settable minimum RSA key sizes on the client end for legacy devices.
Recently I tried to turn on SSH on my 12 year old APC-UPS.? I soon
discovered that I couldn't connect to it because my newer version of
openssh doesn't support RSA key sizes below 1024 bits.
I'd rather not dredge up a big fight, but I _would_ like to express a
desire for some form of overriding the minimum key size.? Basically I've
had to turn on telnet access again, lowering

deadtime/keepalive not working as expected
My expectations are probably wrong, but I had to manually kill a process
to unlock a file when I think it should have killed itself.
I have deadtime set to 15 and keepalive at default (300). I opened a file on
my server in Excel, then shut down the machine. Hours later someone
tells me the file is locked.
Shouldn't keepalive have detected that the machine was off in 5 minutes?

KeepAlive/ClientAliveInterval not working? Idle timeout.
I have set /etc/ssh/sshd_config with:
KeepAlive yes
ClientAliveInterval 3
However, no KeepAlive type messages seem to be sent. I've verified this
by looking at the network lights, which don't flicker every 3 seconds.
I am attempting to keep interactive ssh sessions alive longer. If
don't type anything for about 2 minutes, the sessions close. If I run a

Dovecot 2 and TCP-Keepalive
Hi!
I am about to migrate a perdition-based IMAP/POP3 proxy to Dovecot.
Unfortunately some users are behind a firewall/NAT setup which throws
away seemingly idle TCP connections sooner than the established default
of 24 hours (more likely after 30 minutes ...) resulting in all kinds of
weird client behavior.
And unfortunately? this firewall/NAT setup is outside of my control and

keepalive parameter on 2.0.4b
The default for the keepalive param in 2.0.4b is 300 although the docs. suggest
that the default is 0. Does anyone know why the default changed?
I need to change the keepalive value to 0 as I have some users connecting via
isdn and this keepalive setting will initiate an undesired phone call.
I have 100+ users on the local LAN connecting to samba on HP-UX 11 and have not
experience any problems

Use keepalive to monitor health of qemu-kvm process
Hi everyone,
I've had instances where qemu-kvm process dies and become a zombie. At
that state, libvirtd reports the instance to be running and I can't
restart the VM because libvirtd fails to kill the qemu-kvm process.
Finding the root cause of that is a topic for another day.
I also see this line in logs:

Grandstream GXP-2000 with firmware 1.1.4.18 (beta) fixes an issue where
the phone did not send rtp keepalives when on mute (resulting in
disconnect from tech support hold and concalls)
A side effect seems to be that Asterisk pops the following warning on
the console...

[Bug 443] Ability to set KeepAlive time

The "KeepAlive" option enables TCP_KEEPALIVE on the socket which uses a
system-wide setting (normally 2 hours according to Stevens.)
There is a "Heartbeat" patch for openssh which does what you want, see
