connection reset by peer error (in server log)
Can anyone shed some light on this error we are getting or know of a way to find out more info? Thanks in advance for any help ... we are puzzled. Our server is Linux, rsync version 2.6.7 running in daemon mode Our clients are windows; using cwrsync version 2.6.7 Our method of transport is opening an SSH tunnel then doing rsync through it. We have tested this internally and it has worked very

cannot get rsync to run completely - Really need some help in fixing this.
I'm trying to get rsync to do a complete backup of a NetWare server on the same LAN. For some reason it either completes the reading of the file list and starts copying files (only about 25) then it stops with the following error: rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at io.c(1941) or it does nto start up at all. I'm using version 2.63 as a .nlm on the NetWare server. Other errors I

write_unbuffered -- Connection reset by peer
Dear all, This is just a placeholder really - I've spent quite a lot of time trying to track down the cause of a problem I'm seeing here, and have eventually got an answer. Thought it might be useful to have the solution googleable. Obviously, if someone has better ideas, I'd welcome comments. Similarly, if anyone wants detailed logs, tcpdump or strace output, I'd be happy to

rsync client to daemon over ssh tunnel connection issues
Yes this is another connection reset issue but all I am asking is some pointers on how I can possibly determine what and why this is happening. Its easy to say its a network issue but the bosses and clients want to know how to fix this said "network issue." I have read the rsync issues list. Some of what is suggested we might try HOWEVER we cannot duplicate the errors that occur and

Partial files cause: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(584)
Hello, I am wondering if any of you have any ideas for what I am experiencing. I use Rsync over a local network to backup files from a laptop to my main PC which is running the server as a service. These are both Windows 2000 machines running Cygwin 1.5.18-1 and Rsync 2.6.6. It works fine unless I turn on the partial file option (--partial) and then try to resume an interrupted copy. This is

--- Erhalten von ZBM.ZARBR 089/32000-545 24-02-03 12.07 Hi, I mirror a server installation using rsync 2.5.6 (on both sides) with these options: -a -x --numeric-ids -H --delete --stats -e ssh -z --exclude-from ... This happens every night. In about 80% of the cases rsync returns exit status 12 when trying to transfer a certain file. In the other 20% the file is

Hello! A good day to you all. i've installed rsync-2.5.6 on a Red Hat 9.0 box(server) and am using rsync 2.5.6 on a Red Hat 6.2 box(client). rsync failing after file list
I've taken on some rsync jobs created by someone else and below is a description of the problem. It's pretty straight forward. - both server and client and Windows 2003 servers - there is no ssh between the 2 nodes - the sync was working well up until recently - there are no known changes that would cause the sync to stop working - the job syncs files from a directory that contains

repeatable disconnections when rsyncing over ssh
Hi, I have a problem with rsyncing large data sets (consisting bunch of small files) over ssh. rsync 2.6.6 on both sides. Linux 2.6.10 on receiving side, 2.6.12.6 on sending side. This strace is from rsyncing over 2Mbit link but I can repeat it over 100Mbps lan, too (while testing on lan 2.6.11.3 was on sending and 2.6.12.6 on receiving side). I wonder what can be problem here? Some
