IP SIP Phone/2.0.6
Dear all, I know, you get what you pay for. I bought an IP SIP Phone/2.0.6 from safe.com (?55) and the basic functionality is fine. The problem is when it tries to re-register it hangs for a minute or so and you can not dial nor receive any calls. It also has a registration button which causes the phone to do the same once pressed. This however this does not occur when the phone registers

plot mean + S.E. over time
Hi, there! I finally became a disciple of 'R', after having lost years of my life handling data with a popular, rather wide-spread spreadsheet-software. Now I want to plot the results of many runs of my simulation over time, so that the means +/- Standard error are on the y-axis, and time on the x-axis. I have tried 'boxplot', with timesteps as the grouping variable, but did

chan_zap.c:8050 pri_dchannel: Ring requested on unconfigured channel 255/255 span 2
I have a serious problem that repeats very often, after 30 - 50 calls and I can only solve it by stopped and restarting * :-( After a while, * seems to loose track of something. When an ISDN call from PBX needs to go to the Telco, I get 'Ring requested on unconfigured channel 255/255 span 2' It's always channel 255/255 ??, the 'span' number is random Setup: * between Local

Bug in SUBSCRIBE handling : running out of RTP ports
While trying to deploy a bunch of Polycom IP 500 phones, I ran in to the following. I limited the RTP ports from 8000-8050 to limit holes in firewall. Pretty soon Asterisk ran out of RTP ports. Traced the problem back to how * is handling SUBSCRIBE. A sip structure is allocated as soon as a request is received, which also allocates RTP ports. Normally, this is not a problem as the structure

calling a C function with a struct
I am trying to call a precompiled C function that uses a struct as one of it's arguments. I could write a wrapper function in C, but I was hoping there is some way to pack fields into an array of type raw that could be passed directly to the function. Here is some more detail. The C struct is simple, but has mixed types: struct STRUCT1 { long type; long nx; double

get mean of several rows
Dear all! After hours of trying around, I gave up: I have a 2-dimensional array, and I know how to split it into its rows and how to get the mean for every row using 'sapply'. But what I want is to calculate the mean over the first n rows, and then the second n rows, etc., so that I get a vector like: v == mean1(row 1:5), mean2(row6:10),... (trivial, you might say. I find it rather

Printer upload problem
Hi there, We have 4 samba print servers we use for our 3000 users. they're configured to automatically distribute printer drivers to our windows clients. Recently, we have added a Xerox WorkCenter 5638 monster. But we're unable to upload the driver to the samba server throught print wizzard as windows admin. We've tried PCL, PCL 6, and PS drivers available on Xerox

constrOptim( ): conflict between help page and code
There is a contradiction between what the help page says and what constrOptim actually does with the constraints. The issue is what happens on the boundary. The help page says The feasible region is defined by ?ui %*% theta - ci >= 0?, but the R code for constrOptim reads if (any(ui %*% theta - ci <= 0)) stop("initial value not feasible") The following example

Please help me to produce smoothed contour plots
Please help me to produce smoothed contour plots. I have dependent data generated at regular intervals of two independent variables and would like to produce smoothed contour plots - I cannot get interp (alima) to produce cubic interpolations of the data, only linear ones. I'm interested in smoothing as the data generation process is stochastic and produces small variations which I'd

lists within a list / data-structure problem
Dear all, this is a rather basic question; i am not sure how to structure my data well: I want to extraxt various measures from my raw-data. These measures are of different sizes, so I decided to store them in a list, like: run1 <- list(Dom = (my_vector), mean = (my_single_number)) I can do that in a for loop for 40 runs, ending up with 40 lists: run1, run2, ..., run40. To have all the

Newbie question: How to use tapply() on several vectors simultaneously
Dear R users, I have a newbie-question that I couldn't resolve after reading through several pieces of documentation and searching the archive. I have a data.frame containing experimental data from a group experiment in psychology. Each line represents a single participant, but participants were assigned to groups of three or four persons. One variable indicates each participants'

Multilevel model with lme(): Weird degrees of freedom (group level df > # of groups)
