Rsync 2.6.3pre2 released
I have released rsync 2.6.3pre2 -- the second (and final) pre-release version of 2.6.3. Please help out with the testing so that the code gets a good workout before 2.6.3 is released. (Note that this version will not be in testing for as long as 2.6.3pre1 was -- I'd like to get it released in a week or two, if possible.) To see what has changed since 2.6.2, read this text file:

Status of upcoming 2.6.0 release
The changes made to 2.6.0pre1 have been pretty minor so far, so I had been debating whether we needed a pre2 release or not. I finally decided to go ahead and release what little there is, just to give folks a final opportunity to double check the final release: http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre2.tar.gz http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre2.tar.gz.sig

Rsync 2.6.4pre2 released
I've released rsync 2.6.4pre2. It was a little sooner than expected, but I wanted to get the new keep-alive packets out for testing. Plus, one backward-compatibility bug had the potential to be rather annoying. The changes since 2.6.3 are here: http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.4pre2-NEWS The changes since 2.6.4pre1 are as follows: - Added a keep-alive packet

OK, I packaged up the current CVS as our first preview release for 2.6.0. You can grab it here: http://samba.org/ftp/rsync/preview/rsync-2.6.0pre1.tar.gz The MD5 checksum is: 70e9dea967f083c231b7821ef35aef1b rsync-2.6.0pre1.tar.gz There is not currently a .sig file for the package, but I'm looking into that next. Please test this and let me know if we have any remaining issues

not always making hard links?
I'm using 2.6.3pre1 to transfer a rather large Debian archive (126GB, more than 30 million files). It contains about 450 daily snapshots, where unchanged files are hardlinked between the snapshots (so many files have hunderds of links). It's been running for some time now, and I found that while it's far from done, it's already used 165GB on the receiving end. Investigation shows

AJAX - update item forms problem
I have a table showing some records from the database. These records should be always ordered by some datetime field. The list of items is changed by AJAX using RJS scripts and edits are done by showing and hiding an update form under a chosen row. Adding and updating rows works great but my problem is when the order of items is changed after making some AJAX datetime updates update forms of
