error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) on HP-UX 11.23
Hello, We discovered a slight problem with rsync 2.6.8 on HP-UX 11.23 on Itanium2. When trying to get a directory listing via: # oracle@DEV1[]:/~ > rsync dev1::deploy drwxr-xr-x 96 2006/09/06 12:57:36 . drwxrwxrwx 96 2006/09/11 15:35:33 test # ... it works flawlessly, but when trying to get a subdirectory we get the following error: # DEV1:/etc# rsync dev1::deploy/test #

rsync 2.5.5: HP-UX 11.11 vs. Linux
I'm observing a rather strange behaviour when attempting to transfer files from a Linux box (RH 7.3, kernel 2.4.19-rc1) to HP-UX 11.11 box. Both are running rsync 2.5.5. Everything starts off really nice an quick, but the transfer then slows down to a crawl. On 100 Mb/s network I'm getting a few hunder bytes to a few hundred kilobytes per second. Other programs, like RCP and FTP, do not

It skips the problematic mkstemp() call. It also passed the largefiles test that I sent

[Bug 748] HP-UX 11.11 (aka 11i) needs BROKEN_GETADDRINFO
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=748 ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2004-01-29 21:47 ------- So far no-one has said anything about IPv6 working or not on HP-UX 11.11, so we don't know whether or not it works. We do know that (in some cases, anyway) IPv4 doesn't work because of the getaddrinfo issue. Based on the currently available information,

HP-UX 11.11 question
I recently compiled 3.5p1 on a HP-UX 11.11 box. Any time I use ssh (either locally or connecting from remote) I get a Memory fault. The backtrace in gdb looks something like this (from memory): Libc (free()) Libc (something else) Libnss (something related to DNS) Libc Ssh (get_connect()) I think it's the get_connect or get_connection in ssh where the called function is failing.
