@ERROR: auth failed on module
Hi,
My nightly rsync jobs recently began to fail. I don't recall making any modifications to the rsync config files or upgrading rsync. Below is the error I receive when I try to rsync the home directory of serverA to serverB. Is there anything obviously wrong? Thanks.
serverA rsync # rsync -arczv --delete --password-file=/etc/rsync/rsync.password /home 192.168.1.4::home

"@ERROR: auth failed on module"
Greetings list,
I've been banging my head against this for a few days now, so finally
I throw myself upon your tender mercies.
I had rsync working fine to make offsite backups via an IPSEC VPN
over an ADSL connection - until the remote raid5 server went down. It was
rebuilt
with RedHat 8 and since then I have not been able to rsync to it. Both ends
have vanilla rsync-2.5.5 installed.

dovecot-lda can not find home dir
Hello,
Running dovecot 2.0.11 and pigeonhole on Fedora 14 x86_64. The lda
can not seem to find the user's home directory, yet other parts of
dovecot (pop3, imap, managesieve) can.
Grepping "Effective uid" from /var/log/maillog:

Problem with AD
Hi All,
New to the list here. I am trying to connect my samba box to an Windows
Server 2003 box (yuck). My users want to be able to access shares on the
samba box with the same credentials they used to login into the windows
domain. Am I correct in thinking this is possible? As far as I can tell
from numerous tutorials and docs, I am. Anyway, I downloaded MIT's

Eagle Point upgrade causes problems
Samba Users:
One of my clients is using Samba 2.0.3 on Linux 5.0 with approximately 25
clients. This particular client is an architectural and civil engineering
group using AutoCAD R12 for all their drawings. One of the add-on programs
the civil engineering techs use is Eagle Point of which they just received
an "upgrade".
Prior to the upgrade load times were acceptable at about one

How to Remove DRM from WMA WMV
What is DRM? Why do we remove DRM from WMA WMV ?
Have you download music and video from Windows Media Player, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, bearshare, Spiral Frog, BBC iPlayer downloads? These popular WMA music and WMV movie download programs among the music fans always come with a disgusting word - 'DRM'.

AutoCAD R14 and Eagle Point
Samba List:
Is anyone out there using AutoCAD R14 and Eagle Point? One of my clients
received the latest version of Eagle Point, and the time to load files has
become horrible. It has increased from 1 min to 15 min!
All files are on the Linux server and the stations we did the initial tests
with are PIII w/128MB RAM. The AutoCAD file loads quick, but once the
Eagle Point files begin to load

E&M Wink start problem
Attempting to talk to an Eagle Telephonics switch at a disaster
exercise. Didn't think a plain old E&M wink start T1 would be this
much of an issue.
We finally got the Eagle to accept a call from *, but whilst I can
hear the person on the Eagle, they can't hear me. When they initiate
a dial out I only get the first 2 digits from their switch...
Does anyone have decent

@ERROR: auth failed on module ... / password mismatch
We have an odd situation where we have an rsyncd server running, that
generates a password mismatch error when access attempts are made from
some hosts, but not others.
rsync from host1 is as follows
rsync -vv user@server::STEREO
opening tcp connection to server port 873
opening connection using --server --sender -vv --list-only . STEREO
Password:
