Dev: new option to mark all tincd socket of a tincd process
I know i'm new to the list but i'd like to propose something for tincd
daemon.
I'd like to mark all sockets established by a tincd process with a mark
passed as an argument in the command line.
What could be the purpose of this new option?
The goal of this option is to be able to have several tincd process
running at the same time using the same port but using different ip.

NIS failover
We just updated our configuratiosn to have multiple NIS servers, when we
initiated a test of client failover, we were disapointed.
It seemed that the only way to get a filaover was to /etc/init.d/ypbind restart.
It behaves as indicated in
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=5084845 using
ypbind-1.17.2-13 on Centos 4.5 / Linux xxxxxxxxxxxx 2.6.9-55.0.12.ELsmp #1 SMP

sftp/scp performance testing
Folks, I've noticed poor performance using sftp. If anyone has any
advice on how to improve performance, I'd like to hear it. Test simply
involved transferring a single 143MB MP3 file using defaults for all the
program configs. The opensshd 3.0.2p1 server is used in all tests.
Software:
openssh suite 3.0.2p1

Solaris build failed
dovecot-v1.0-alpha build failed for Solaris 11 (OpenSolaris Nevada).
The problematic line is in socket.c line 228. The fix should be to
change SOL_TCP to IPPROTO_TCP found in netinet/in.h. This change should
work universally on all platforms.

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] Reduce network overhead with corking
Slightly RFC, as I need more time to investigate why Unix sockets
appeared to degrade with this patch. But as TCP sockets (over loopback
to localhost) and TLS sessions (regardless of underlying Unix or TCP)
both showed improvements, this looks like a worthwhile series.

Issue with geo-replication and nfs auth

I've some issue with geo-replication (since 3.2.0) and nfs auth (since initial release).

Libguestfs (1.22.6) driver/changes for mingw/win32
Hi,
I attached the changes I made to a vanilla libguestfs-1.22.6 in order to
make it work in mingw/win32.
Added is also the patch required to make QEMU compatible (add a command to
QMP that lists the supported devices (the regilat way you do it print it to
stderr, which is difficult to redirect in win32)).
This is done on behalf of Intel Corp.
Thanks,
Or (oberon in irc)

Bug 6870 resurfaced in Samba 4.2.10
According to this bugzilla entry, bug 6870 has been fixed as of at least
version 3.5:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6870
However, I assert that it is present in 4.2.10, which ships with Debian
Jessie.
On my home network (IPv4 and IPv6), a box with Samba 4.2.10 with IPv6
disabled (via sysctl), will fail to contact a DC because the IPv6
connect fails immediately before the v4

About bug 640857

I'm writing to ask whether this bug is fixed in your openSSH 6.0. If no, do you have any plan?

CentOS 7 as a guest VM
Seems like its the single byte thing...
I tried adding:
int flag = 1;
if(setsockopt(fd, IPPROTO_TCP, TCP_NODELAY, &flag, sizeof(flag)) < 0)
but did not have any effect. I also did the echo 1 >
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_low_latency
seems to have no effect also.

nmbd dying
nmbd has been dying on me occasionally. I'm running mandrake 9.2 with
samba3-server-3.0.0-2mdk. We've got our users in ldap but I'd seen this
symptom previously when I was using an earlier version of samba that didn't
support ldap. There is nothing useful in the logs and a PS shows a nmb
process still running.
This last time around, I had a ptrace running on both nmbd

Broken pipe, x86_64 CentOS 5.2
Hi All,
I have a problem with torque (openPBS) on x86_64 CentOS 5.2. Just to add there's
no problem on a 32bit CentOS 5.2 or 64bit Ubuntu 8.04.
The problem is that pbs_mom's child quits without giving any error logs.

Configuration file TCPKeepAlive option does not work reliably
Hi!
There are configuration knobs (TCPKeepAlive) to enable/disable the use of TCP keepalives both in the ssh client and server. Unfortunately some UNIX systems default to SO_KEEPALIVE=on and some to =off. This may even be settable on a per host basis (OpenBSD default net.inet.tcp.always_keepalive=1 ???).
For the TCPKeepAlive configuration knob I would like to propose changes along the lines
