RSync on Windows 2003
Hello,
I'm desperately trying to have a RSync server work on a Windows 2003
Standard Server.
All the documentation available I have found applies to Windows NT/2000/XP
I don't know whether 2003 works differently from the previous Windows.
I have installed the cwrsync package.
The RSyncServer Service is running fine under a user account named cwrsync.

Automatic mapping shares on logon time
Hello we are testing samba 4.11.2 and we try automatic mapping shares
folders for users that their have permissions on fileserver, on the logon
time, like logon script on Windows.
Any have a method to do this ?
I explain, instead of the user go to "File Browser" and navigate and map
the share folders on the fileserver, we try to automatic map this folders
on logon time.
regards.

FTS solr issue with second private namespace
Hi all,
I have just stumbled over an issue with the FTS plugin of dovecot.
For our primary namespace, INBOX and its subfolders, searching works
without any problems but in a second namespace, which I have created
for old/archived mails, searching of the mail text/body does not work.
I can see the search request in the tomcat log but no result is created
and the mail client (Thunderbird) keeps

Error on loading libraries -
Hello everyone!
I'm working this school project in R and everything was fine until I moved
to other computer.
The problem is that I can't load few libraries like "Snowball" or "openNLP".
Like I said, everything was fine on other computers, but at the moment, the
only computer
is this one that I'm finding error on.
So here is the problem:

package "growth" ... where is it ?
I would like to install the package "growth" as it contains the function
"corgram" and some other presumably useful stuff for time series analysis.
I can see it is in R standard library list:

Indexing paralelism
Hi
Observing the processes of FTS, I observe the following:
1 - For one user, indexer-wroker does not start several threads for each
request. On teh contrary, it waits for the first request to finish
before starting the second. How to make sure all requests (or a limited
number of it, for instance linked to the CPU number on the machine) are
started asap ?
2 - If a IMAP query is received,

Clustering and Rand Index - VS-KM
Dear WizaRds,
I have been trying to compute the adjusted Rand index as by Hubert/
Arabie, and could not correctly approach how to define a partition
object as in my last request yesterday.
With package fpc I try to work around the problem, using my original data:
mat <- matrix( c(6,7,8,2,3,4,12,14,14, 14,15,13,3,1,2,3,4,2,
15,3,10,5,11,7,13,6,1, 15,4,10,6,12,8,12,7,1), ncol=9, byrow=T )

security bugs and release
Hello,
I''d like to know why when there is a new advisory you just release a patch
instead of a new release.
This, in my opinion creates only confusion. For example, if I''m running 4.2.1
I don''t exatly know which patches have been applied. If you say, this is fixed
in 4.2.2 I know that if I''m run that version, I''m fine.
Is there a real reason

alternative option in skewness and kurtosis tests?
I have a question about the D'Agostino skewness test and the Anscombe-Glynn
kurtosis test.
agostino.test(x, alternative = c("two.sided", "less", "greater"))
anscombe.test(x, alternative = c("two.sided", "less", "greater"))
The option "alternative" in those two functions seems to be the null
hypothesis. In the output, the

significance of differences in skew and kurtosis between two groups
Dear R-users,
I am comparing differences in variance, skew, and kurtosis between two groups.
For variance the comparison is easy: just
var.test(group1, group2)
I am using agostino.test() for skew, and anscombe.test() for kurtosis. However, I can't find an equivalent of the F.test or Mood.test for comparing kurtosis or skewness between two samples.
Would the test just be a 1 df test on

cwRsync on windows
Hi folks,
It may be a very basic question for many people here but I have been
struggling with Windows commandline. My CentOS machines are running
perfectly fine.
Question:
I have installed cwRsync server on one of Windows 2003 and cwRsync
client on the other Windows 2003. What command should I run to connect
to the cwRsync server from the client? and how can I make sure that
cwRsync is even

MCMCglmm with cross-classified random effects
Dear R-users,
I would like to fit a glmm with cross-classified random effects with
the function MCMCglmm. Something along the lines:
model1<-MCMCglmm(response~pred1, random=~re1+re2, data=data)
where re1 and re2 should be crossed random effects. I was wondering
whether you could tell me specifying cross-classified random effects
in MCMCglmm requires a particular syntax? Are there any

Help understanding rsync and cwrsync
Hi all, we are just beginning to dive into rsync. I have limited
experience with just playing around with the examples and reading all
the docs that I can. I just read an interesting post from a developer
that mentions cwrsync is a minimalistic rsync and thus things like
permissions are not transfered, the post was from 2004. Here are my

cwrsync server 2.0.4 / winxp / ownership problems?
Hi all!
We're using cwrsync server 2.0.4 on winxp to keep files up to date between
some operator machines.
Whenever I run rsync to send files to another machine, the read-only flag
gets set. The cwrsync user was created (the install is completely
standard)... so I'm thinking it might have something to do with that.
Here's my rsyncd.conf:
use chroot = false
strict modes = false

Status of --ignorcase option in main tree/build?
Hi,
I'm very interested in learning the status of the --ignorecase patch
being included in the main tree... is there a reason it still isn't in
there?
For anyone who is forced to dealing with backing up windows boxes, this
is a big problem, and I can't believe that it isn't affecting a lot of
people...
Or maybe there is a simple workaround?
