[LLVMdev] Google Summer of Code Idea
FWIW, Ben Hardekopf asked me to post this for him on the subject
Regarding Whaley and Lam's BDD-based approach to context-sensitive
analysis, there is a paper by the same research group (Avots et al in
ICSE'05) that adapts their technique for C. The results are not very
encouraging -- their system doesn't scale nearly as well for C as it did
for Java. The primary difference is that

Weird differing results when using the Wilcoxon-test
Hi,
I became a little bit confused when working with the Wilcoxon test in R.
As far as I understood, there are mainly two versions:
1) wilcox.test{stats}, which is the default and an approximation, especially,
when ties are involved
2) wilcox_test{coin}, which does calculate the distribution _exactly_ even,
with ties.
I have the following scenario:

Performance Problems in smbmount but not in smbclient
I have an OS X 10.4 Server machine that has abysmal performance when
copying files to it over smbmount from a linux machine or through Finder
on OS X but performs very well when copying files through smbclient from
the same Linux and OS X machines. I have already tried the commonly
suggested adjustment of net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0 and have not noticed
a significant performance improvement.

Creating a large matrix
Dear all,
I have a set of data that is 2 columns wide and 35,000 rows long (see
extract below). The first column contains codes for tetrads (2km x 2km
squares within NW England) and the second column has the names of moss
species present within each tetrad. I wish to convert this into a matrix
where rows are labelled by 'Tetrad', columns are labelled by 'Moss species'
and each

dup error of rsync 3.0.6-1 under cygwin 1.7.0-62 and 63
I have used earlier rsync on cygwin successfully for a
long. I have now moved to cygwin 1.7.0, which required
moving to rsync 3.0.6-1 at the same time. (The -1 is
for minor cygwin-specific patches.)
When I do almost any command with rsync, such as the one
below, it breaks at a dup2 after a fork in pipe.c (routine
piped_child). Windows gives error code 6, which is translated
by cygwin to errno 9 =

Cisco 7940 Configuration
Hello all,
I recently purchased a Cisco 7940 IP phone to do some testing with (to
validate a migration to asterisk for our internal PBX needs). I
understand that I need to update the phone for it to support SIP, so I
configured the phone with an IP address and pointed it at my tftp server.
When I reboot the phone I am currently getting "TFTP File Not Found

rsync hang on large file in a set
This is to both the rsync and cygwin lists, and I
regret that it is vaguer than I would like, but ...
With cygwin 1.7 (latest beta) and the rsync released
with it (3.0.6-1) I try to sync a couple of Gb of
Thunderbird mail files. The flag settings were
-avzuP plus a --chmod and some includes/excludes
to control which files to move.
I would repeatably get "hangs" on particular files,

rsync on Mac OS X
Hello all,
I'm new with rsync on Mac OS X.
I'v tried to backup a project directory with the following command:
rsync -avu "${source}" "${target}"
The problem:
files into bundles are copied though they were not modified.
Furthermore, the permissions and attributes have been modified.
NOTE:
bundles are directory displayed as one file with one icon in the finder.

EFI boot failure
I am back at this, again, trying to get my linux PXE server back up and
running. I have the x86_pc (pxelinux.0) boots fine. I can boot Ubuntu Gnome
16.04 to teh setup screen. Every time I attempt to boot the same nfs from a
computer which can boot via efi (x64_efi), I get a failed transfer. This is
with 6.04_pre I grabbed well over a year ago.
What happens is I get a TFT transport error. This is

Getting Windows XP drivers from print$
Hi list
I have two very similar printers set up on CUPS and Samba is configured
to share the drivers. I had been playing around with setting up a RAW
printer queue with native Windows drivers but eventually gave up on
that. I deleted all printers and redid them from scratch and now only
one of them works.

Per-user "Seen" flags on public folder
Dear all,
sorry to bother the list again, I have a small configuration issue again with public (shared) folders.
These folders should have per-user Seen flags, so I configured:
namespace {
type = public
separator = .
prefix = public.
location = maildir:/var/mail/public:INDEX=%u/public
subscriptions = no
list = children
}
But this only seems to work with my account (presumably as I
