More patches to fix NetBSD compiling
Unfortunately, the login.c changes after pre-19 have exposed some more NetBSD-centric problems concerning the lack of several fields in struct utmp. Here's another set of patches to fix NetBSD compiling (although they may also help some other UNIXes as well). New chroot patch, for 2.1.1p4
Hi there, everybody; As promised, here's the new version for my chroot patch. It applies cleanly over OpenSSH 2.1.1p4, and I'm attaching 2 versions: - openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch-wc, is the chroot patch plus a "--with-chroot" patch for the "configure" script. - openssh-2.1.1p4-chroot.patch, is the same without the "--with-chroot" part. Have fun,

2.2.0p1 chroot patch
Hi there, everyone; Attached to this mail is the 2.2.0p1 version of my chroot patch. For those of you interested, my usual warning: This is NOT plug&pray. You'll have to build a whole binaries/libs/conf files tree within the new root. (it's just like the "classic" anonymous ftp behaviour) Configure with "configure --with-chroot" to use. Regards; RC --

rsync ported to BeOS-bone
Hello, here is a preliminary patch allowing rsync 2.5.6 to compile in BeOS (using the new BONE networking stack). Some explanations: - BeOS doesn't have chroot(), - the BONE networking stack export legacy network function for old apps in libnet.so (linked to by default), so it's necessary to force linking to the new libraries for things to work. I've yet to get inet_ntop() to be

AIX patch for openssh-3.7.1p2
There are a couple of bugs in the openssh-3.7.1p2. The aix_setauthdb function does not work with other types of authentication such as AFS/DFS. The loginfailed test in configure is not correct. Also, AIX can use the wtmp logging which I added in configure. Attached is the patch. Sorry I forgot to mention I didn't make any changes to the configure script. The problem is that I can't test these things since I'm not on a Unix platform, and I'm not even using the

Patch to make pre19 work with NetBSD
The pre19 code assumes that struct lastlog either exists in lastlog.h or isn't there. On NetBSD, struct lastlog is defined in utmp.h. Even worse, the non-lastlog code in login.h is terrible on NetBSD (since NetBSD doesn't have a ut_type struct member). With the patch below, openssh will compile and run on NetBSD again. ./configure --disable-ipv6 hangs
Hello, I think that I've spotted a bug in Rsync's configure script: if one uses --disable-ipv6, configure would hang forever at step: checking whether defines needed by getaddrinfo exist... What happens is that when this option is used, $EGREP is not defined in the script. Then this particular test invokes ... | $EGREP "yes". This actually runs the Unix "yes"

AIX openssh patches
I have a few patches for AIX. The patchfile is attached below. The patch has been tested on AIX4.2 and AIX4.3. The patch is on openssh-1.2.1pre25, with openssl-0.94, using RSAref. 1) authenticate support - this function allows the system to determine authentification. Whatever the system allows for login, authenticate will too. It doesn't matter whether it is AFS, DFS, SecureID, local.

include/exclude bug in rsync 2.6.0/2.6.1pre1
As mentioned on the rsync home page, the --files-from=FILE option in rsync version 2.6.0 is a useful option that allows one to "specify a list of files to transfer, and can be much more efficient than a recursive descent using include/exclude statements (if you know in advance what files you want to transfer)". However, --files-from does not help one implement the --rsync-exclude=FILE

[PATCH 00/09] arm: tools: build for arm64 and enable cross-compiling for both arm32 and arm64
The following patches shave some rough edges off the tools build system to allow cross compiling for at least arm32 and arm64 based on the Debian/Ubuntu multiarch infrastructure. They also add the necessary fixes to build for arm64 (which I have only tried cross, not native). I have posted some instructions on how to compile with these patches on the wiki:

more NetBSD patches, for OpenSSH V1.2.2
Hi, the following patches are in the NetBSD packages collection to get OpenSSH 1.2.2 going. Changes: * /dev/urandom may be there but not in the kernel - make sure * Pull in some more headers needed by configure * Add proper ld-flags for ELF platforms * Some code cleanup * Install example files always to a different dir, and use out build system to DTRT WRT getting them to /etc.
