rsync 2.5.5 SCO Unixware patch
Hello list,
This is a patch to rsync 2.5.5, and it serves two purposes. The small
patches to batch.c, flist.c and log.c simply add "void" to some function
definitions so that all declarations in proto.h have full parameter lists.
unsigned char read_batch_flags() OLD
unsigned char read_batch_flags(void) NEW
The SCO UNIXWare compiler correctly objected to these functions not

Negotiates g729 but RTP contains g711
Hi,
I was able to use Unsniff to validate that the incoming 20 byte payloads of audio from the downstream IAX2 trunk was definitely G.729a whilst Asterisk 16.13.0 transcodes to G.711a unnecessarily. Media is confirmed as having been negotiated as g729 on all four streams. Nuance with this call is that it's from a WebRTC client which doesn't transmit any audio, could this be influencing

[PATCH] Simplify Kerberos credentials cache code
The attached patch removes the duplicated credentials cache generation
code in auth-krb5.c and gss-serv-krb5.c, by turning it into a procedure
which is then called by both sections of code.
It's against the latest portable CVS tree.
Cheers,
Simon.

[RFC PATCH 01/19] tools/virtiofsd: add support for --socket-group
If you like running QEMU as a normal user (very common for TCG runs)
but you have to run virtiofsd as a root user you run into connection
problems. Adding support for an optional --socket-group allows the
users to keep using the command line.

Patch for stderr logging
Rsync team, and interested parties:
i was attempting to get rsync to launch from tcpserver[0] (an inetd
replacement from djb) and log to stderr for logging via multilog[1]
(syslog replacement by djb) and i was unable to get it to log to stdout/
stderr at all.

[PATCH] Use credentials and permissions on control socket where available
There are at least three cases:
* Linux: check credentials and pid from client;
restrict permissions from server
* BSD: check credentials only from client; restrict permissions from server
* Solaris: wide open

Negotiates g729 but RTP contains g711
Hi,
We have a scenario where inbound calls from an upstream provider (chan_sip) sent downstream (chan_iax2) negotiates only g729 yet RTP media contains g711. Both the upstream and downstream trunks are limited to only offering g729 whilst the initial invite from our upstream provider offers both g711 and g729. Asterisk presumably simply forwards the media from iax2 trunk encapsulation to sip

race condition with ControlMaster=auto
There is a race in the setup of the ControlMaster socket in auto mode, as
illustrated by the following command line:
ssh -oControlMaster=auto -oControlPath=sock localhost 'sleep 1; echo 1' &
ssh -oControlMaster=auto -oControlPath=sock localhost 'sleep 2; echo 2' &
Both of the commands will try to start up as a control client, find that
sock does not exist, and switch into

Bug#784880: [PATCH for-4.6] tools: libxl: Handle failure to create qemu dm logfile
If libxl_create_logfile fails for some reason then
libxl__create_qemu_logfile previously just carried on and dereferenced
the uninitialised logfile.
Check for the error from libxl_create_logfile, which has already
logged for us.
This was reported as Debian bug #784880.

"rsync --daemon" and IPv4/v6 dual stack
on systems that has separate IPv4/v6 socket layer (i.e. IPv4 packet
does not get routed to AF_INET6 socket) rsync --daemon would accept
IPv6 sessions only. open_socket_in() tries to deal with the
situation, but it was not enough. here's the patch.
(it is required on all *BSDs to accept both IPv4 and IPv6 connections
with --daemon mode)

OpenSSH ControlAllowUsers, et al Patch
Attached (and inline) is a patch to add the following config options:
ControlBindMask
ControlAllowUsers
ControlAllowGroups
ControlDenyUsers
ControlDenyGroups
It pulls the peer credential check from client_process_control() in ssh.c,
and expounds upon it in a new function, client_control_grant().
Supplemental groups are not checked in this patch. I didn't feel comfortable
taking a shot

[nbdkit PATCH 3/5] api: Add nbdkit_string_intern helper
Implementing .default_export with its 'const char *' return is tricky
in the sh plugin: we must return dynamic memory, but must avoid a
use-after-free. And we don't want to change the return type of
.default_export to 'char *', because that would make our choice of
malloc()/free() part of the API, preventing either nbdkit or a plugin
