Installing rsync as a service on Windows 2000.
I was looking to install Rsync on a win2k server, the document telling you how to do this (available at: http://samba.org/rsync/nt.html) is fairly out of date and has a couple of mistakes.
An updated version of the "Rsync on NT" document is now available at:
http://www.tiarnan.phlegethon.org/rsyncntdoc.html
I think I've gotten rid of the mistakes, but if I've missed anything

Ownership lost: linux -> windows -> linux
Hi,
I have a problem of loss of file ownership with rsync.
For some odd reasons, I have to use a windows machine
as rsync server, and to backup/restore a filesystem
from/to a linux client.
All files in my linux filesystem are owned by root,
with gid root.
If I save the files onto the windows rsync server from
linux using rsync, and then restore them back to
linux, the ownership for all files

Status OB (on battery) when polling a Liebert PSA
Hi all,
This is my first experience with NUT.
I'm trying to test a Liebert PSA 1500 UPS, connected via USB to a single PC.
I have followed the instruction in the "Configuration" section of the online
user manual.
Everything seems to be fine, except that, when I run "upsc
liebert at localhostups.status", it retuns "OB", even if the UPS is
currently online.

Rsync for Windows on http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php
Hi to all on the Rsync mailing list.
I noticed some posts back on the 25th September about my Rsync page
(http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php). There were questions regarding
it's suitability, why it was there, etc, and how I did not conform to
the GPL.
I have since sought advice from the Rsync administrators, who have
advised me with regards to the GPL, etc.

mboot.c32/Xen compatible
Hello all,
I'm new on the list and hope this question isn't out of order.
I'm booting Xen with mboot.c32 but with 100mb/s cards. I want to
upgrade to 1000mb/s.
I haven't got the biggest budget to trial and error new network cards
so I'd like to buy the right card first time.
I think this can be a bit tricky from 100mb/s card experience. A

Loading Xen with PXELinux
Hi All:
I found this old message on the web archives. I've gotten Xen working with
PXELinux, albeit with something of a hack. The basic chain is:
1. pxelinux
2. memdisk
3. FAT16 floppy image
4. grub installed on floppy image
5. xen.gz and vmlinuz on floppy image
While this seems pretty simple, the key bits were to use:
1. FAT16 (not ext2, etc) for the floppy image
2. use the 'raw'

Using pxelinux mboot.c32 to multiboot Solaris
Hi All,
Now that we have multiboot capable pxelinux, thanks to mboot.c32,
I decided to try and remove pxegrub from my x86 jumpstart infrastructure
since, in theory, pxelinux can now do it all.
The problem I'm having is I'm not very sure I'm following Tim's documentation
correctly... I'm not 100% what comes after the --- and whether the Sun kernel
needs it's arguments

How to start installing a Quad-Devel-Station?
Hello Xen-Users,
I am running a Debian GNU/Linux Devel-Station (P2/366 MHz, 512MByte)
and use currently chroots which give some problems from time to time.
I have following configuration:
----8<------------------------------------------------------------------
/dev/sda1 / 7700 GByte # Master System
/dev/sda2 swap 256 MByte # Master System
/dev/sda3 /var 512 MByte # Master System

etherboot & multiboot
I''ve now given up trying to get grub working with my particular e1000
adapter, I''ve tried all the patches and all I can get is something that
works a little bit but never past the grub menu.
I''m sure I read something somewhere about a tool which would combine a
multiboot image + modules into a single bootable item which could be
loaded by lilo, and am hoping that the
