rsync hanging (Sun -> AIX)
I'm trying to rync working between the UK (Sun box) and India (AIX box) and
am having a real problems getting it up and running because every time I do
a full transfer it hangs. The Sun box is the one holding the canonical
source which we want to mirror.
I've been shipped to the India office to get this working and have tried
hundreds of things over the last week, I've also scoured

rsync 2.5.5 Tru64 5.1
Hi,
I am trying to compile rsync 2.5.5 on a Tru64 box. I downloaded
configure.in revision 1.148, which I believe is the correct fix for the
getaddrinfo problem; however I still have errors compiling rsync. Also I
had to change line 22 in options.c from #include "popt.h" to #include
"popt/popt.h". Any suggestions or ideas?

rsync 2.6.0 and Solaris 8
Trying to build rsync 2.6.0 on Solaris 8 (gcc 3.3.2) has revealed that
some of the EAI_ defines exist on Solaris, but not all of them. This
causes lib/getaddrinfo.c to fail compilation as EAI_MAX (and some others)
is undefined.
The patch below fixes this issue, but I haven't tested the specific error
conditions represented by the defines.

Rsync-2.5.5 on Tru64 UNIX V51.A
Hi
I am trying to compile rsync-2.5.5 on Tru64 UNIX V5.1A
The configure completed sucessfully however the make failed. The following
is a copy of the configure and make output. Could you please provide advice
as to why this is failing and hopefully resolution.
Just as a matter of comparison - rsync-2.5.4 make also fails, however,
rsync-2.4.8 compiled sucessfully on this version of Tru64 5.1A

Bug in compile of rsync 2.5.4 on Tru64 UNIX V5.1a using cc
Greetings, here is the output of the 'configure' step and
the compile step (using the Compaq cc compiler that comes
with Tru64 V5.1A. The configure reported success and most of
the compile steps cam through error/warning free except for
the one that stumbled. Can someone help me out here? I am willing
to provide a binary for Tru64 V5.1A if we can swat this bug.
We depend greatly on Rsync

[Bug 585] sshd core dumping on IRIX 6.5.18 with VerifyReverseMapping enabled
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=585
------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2003-07-07 00:32 -------
dmalloc (http://dmalloc.com/) claims to work on IRIX. It's likely to increase
the CPU and memory load, though.
I've built with dmalloc on Linux thusly:
LDFLAGS=-ldmalloc ./configure && make
eval `dmalloc -l /path/to/log high`
./sshd [options]

Statistical Quality Control
Greetings,
I've been familiarizing myself with the features of R over the past few
days. I'm impressed with the quality and quantity of the features and
packages. One feature that I would be interested in would be a package for
statistical quality control. Does a package for statistical quality control
exist that I've been unable to locate?
If not, is anyone aware of efforts to

Re: Ajax.Request question with JSON return
Do I need something like this:
eval(''('' + this.header(''X-JSON'') + '')'')
(taken from Cody Swann,
http://ajaxian.com/archives/prototype-extension-dynamic-script-pattern-support
).
I''m guessing my problem is simpler, and I''m leaving something small out
related to the header though.
Thanks for any help

[patch] Correct configure test for sin_len to compile on Tru64 Unix
The last versions of rsync fail to compile on Tru64 Unix (alpha),
because of a typo in configure.in.
The problem is that the code in configure check for sockaddr.sa_len,
while the code uses sockaddr.sin_len. This patch fixes the problem.
Please include it in the next version of rsync.

[PATCH tftpd-hpa] tftpd: don't use AI_CANONNAME and AI_ADDRCONFIG to resolve addresses for bind
AI_CANONNAME is only relevant when the resulting official name is used,
which is not the case in tftpd for the address to bind to. Also
AI_ADDRCONFIG isn't helpful. This flag is good for sockets used to
connect(2) somewhere. But for listening sockets it makes tftpd fail to
start when -a 0.0.0.0:69 is passed and no network device is up yet.

[PATCH] Use canonical hostname for DNS SSHFP lookup
In the current implementation, ssh always uses the hostname supplied by
the user directly for the SSHFP DNS record lookup. This causes problems
when using the domain search path, e.g. I have "search example.com" in my
resolv.conf and then do a "ssh host", I will connect to host.example.com,
but ssh will query the DNS for an SSHFP record of "host.", not

--link-dest not working on remote server (running daemon)
Thanks for the reply. The link-dest is different. It is Feb 1 while the
source is Feb 2.
I tried setting path = /media/external/ for the daemon and using
rsync -a -v -i --delete --link-dest=backup-2016-02-01-0100
--password-file=/media/external/scripts/offsite_rsync.pass
/media/external/backup/backup-2016-02-02-0100 backup at 192.168.2.102:

[PATCH 0/5] Support socket activation in virt-p2v.
As the subject says, support socket activation in virt-p2v.
I have added upstream support for socket activation to nbdkit already:
https://github.com/libguestfs/nbdkit/commit/7ff39d028c6359f5c0925ed2cf4a2c4c751af2e4
I posted a patch for qemu-nbd, still waiting on more reviews for that
