experience with Sympa to Mailman?
I have a Centos 5.5 box with Mailman installed. A new user will host lists
using Mailman, moving from a Sympa based host. Sympa isn't in the repos, does
anyone know why? or have any experience moving the archive from Sympa to
Mailman?

Using an external database behind a firewall
Hi everyone,
There''s a separate database I''m using to get mail group info for our
users (Sympa), and I''ve got Rails configured to pull data directly
from it via an entry in database.yml
The issue we''re having is that the database server in question is
behind an internal firewall that has idle timeouts set at 30 minutes.
If the connection isn''t used

exclude directory from rsync
hey guys,
I'm trying to do an rsync of the entire /var directory, but exclude just
the /var/www directory.
So far I've tried these approaches:
rsync -avzp --exclude-from=/var/www /var/ /mnt/var/
rsync -avzp --exclude=/var/www /var/ /mnt/var/
But neither has worked. Can I get a suggestion on how to get this to happen?
Thanks,
Tim

The problem is that the result is as following:
--rebuild: unknown option
I tried to rebuild the rpm database, with --rebuilddb, but nothing does.
I have installed CentOS 3.1 (latest) and I also have updated the rpm package

[OT?] Group Policy, drive maps and Cliend Site Caching...

Starting point: in current configuration (Samba, NT mode) some portable
system have CSC enabled, and when go to another site... is another
site, eg does not fined the domain, so simply CSC 'work'' as expected.
Now that i'm moving computer to the new domain, that is the same domain
across all sites, i'm not

Similar, though I named it rcp because nobody has the real rcp installed
any more, but sometimes I need scp to connect to systems that lack rsync.

the list is down but I''m working on it
Hi people
The list is down, severly so. Mailman is pretty hosed which is probably
related to repeated disk-full conditions.
I''ll try to fix this tomorrow (Saturday).
In the meantime, I''m considering moving away from Mailman, if anybody knows
a better alternative, I''d love to hear about it in private.
Thanks!
