csum-length documentation
I was startled to find that the --csum-length option is not implemented even though it is documented in the manpage. Not a good thing. Here's a patch that removes the manpage entry. I'd much rather not see this option and actually have the csum_length be per-file dynamic. Either way this patch should be applied at least until the code changes. The patch also brings rsync.1 and

[LLVMdev] Changes to configure to recognize MinGW Win32 platform
Hi I've started to port LLVM to the MinGW Win32 platform. To successfully recognize the platform, following statements should be inserted into the configure script: ---------- Index: configure ================================================================== RCS file: /var/cvs/llvm/llvm/configure,v retrieving revision 1.114 diff -u -r1.114 configure --- configure 7 Sep 2004 18:04:45 -0000

[PATCH-resend] Implement SSH2_FXF_APPEND
Hi, I submitted this a few weeks ago but here it is again since I got no response. If there is somewhere else I should send this, please tell me. This patch implements SSH2_FXF_APPEND in the sftp server. It is a fairly trivial patch and applies against the proper OpenSSH and the Portable edition. I would argue that it is important for OpenSSH to implement SSH2_FXF_APPEND since it is in the

SPAM: Get Rich NOW!!
Hello root@inet.hkg.com, It looks like someone, at your end, is leaking SPAM into the Samba list. The apparent source of this SPAM is <inet.hkg.com> which, unbelieveably, is a real address. They are then relay-raping the Singapore Network to get it into this list. After careful deliberation, I have conciously decided to forward this one message into the samba lists. All future SPAM

patch to ssh.c for KerberosTgtPassing and readability patches for config files and manpages
Hey All, Found a very minor problem with client implementation of KerberosTgtPassing command line flag in ssh.c (first diff). Kerberos: Principal may not act as server ERROR
Our environment: samba4 (alpha12) running on centos 5.4. We are experimenting with Hyper-V 2008 R2 Failover Clustering, which requires Active Directory. We are trying to see if samba-4 will work as the AD server. We are trying to create 2 node failover cluster. Both nodes have joined the domain successfully (with samba-4 as the DC). Exclude sets generated with -C
Hi guys, I recently stumbled across what I think is an rsync bug. The problem was I was trying to rsync from one CVS checkout, to another, and was using rsync -Cavz to do the job. In this CVS module, there happens to be two sub-directories with the names of "core" and "tags" respectively, which were ignored, since these names matched the default CVS ignore list. When rsync

Pb w/ >2GB files on AIX (4.3.3/5.1)
I have discovered that rsync 2.5.6 uses the mkstemp() routine wich do not have a 64bits version into the AIX libc. A very simple workaround to the big files writing rsync pb. is to not use this routine that create files w/ mkstemp() by modifying the "syscall.c" source file at line 154 as following : #if defined(HAVE_SECURE_MKSTEMP) && defined(HAVE_FCHMOD) become #if

Proposal that we now create two branches - 2_5 and head
I'd like to suggest that this is now a great time to create two separate cvs branches for the rsync product. One, which I'll tentatively call 2_5, would hold the version of the code that has been released to the world as 2.5.6. The other, which I'll tentatively call head, would hold the development activity leading up to the next field release. I'm not bound to these names, but I
