patch to change sprintf to snprintf in inet_ntop.c for SunOS4
I found that inet_ntop.c was depending on the return value of sprintf to
return an int, but on SunOS4 it returns a char *. Snprintf is preferred
anyway, so here's a patch to change the calls to use snprintf. Applies
cleanly to the current CVS, and it was the only patch I need to apply to
get 2.9p1 to build on SunOS4.1.4.
On the other hand, I can't see any where inet_ntop is called, and

Interoperability with MAC OSX clients, resource forks, xattrs
Hi folks,
I wish you all a happy new year!
I want to migrate a fileserver for Windows und MAC OS clients with ancient
versions of samba and netatalk to samba 3.6 (with a samba 4 domain
controller), but this raises quite some issues.
The new server should - if possible - not be running netatalk. While the
package is quite mature, being able to access the same share with both CIFS
and AFS

feedback on rsync-HEAD-20050125-1221GMT
Wayne,
I have been using the rsync snapshot from 1/25 for the last few days and
everything seems quite solid so far. I include below a few nit-picks in
case you're looking for thing to tidy up.
I'm also looking forward to hearing news about the --filter option. I'm
thinking it is going to be very useful for backup purposes. What I
would want to be able to do is, on a

[2.1.1p4] utmp related patches plus unresolved bugs description
Fixed:
-- On systems such as SunOS4 where the system include files

was not done correctly.

[2.1.1p4] utmp patch for SunOS 4.1.x
Follow-on to Charles Levert's <charles at comm.polymtl.ca> work on
utmp_write_direct.
Fixed:
-- At logout, the utmp entry is cleared. Tested on SunOS 4.1.4.
The code I added to loginrec.c is restricted to SUNOS4 pending
QA testing on other platforms.

checking sys/sysctl.h presence... yes

SunOS 4.x port
This is based on openssh-2.0.0beta1. There are a few rough spots:
1) SunOS doesn't have ut_type in struct utmp so I just whacked
in the old login() from openssh-1.2.3.
2) There is a SUNOS4 section added to defines.h -- this could probably
be a bit cleaner.
3) sigaction on SunOS is implemented via #defines to sigvec, thus there
is no SA_RESTART (this is the default behavior).

[patch] Samba 3.0.1pre1 : unable to link tdbbackup on Solaris 9
Hi to all,
On Solaris 9 (and below I think), Samba 3.0.1pre1's tdbbackup now needs snprintf which is not included in Solaris.
The following patch on master Makefile.in (~samba/source) should ease the compilation of tdbbackup :

The warnings included below occur because of missing include files for each

sys/audit.h needs sys/types.h and sys/label.h
sys/dir.h needs sys/types.h

anyone compile source on Mac OS X?
Did anyone have any luck compiling rsync 2.5.2, from source, on Mac OS X?
Doing a straight ./configure && make, I get the error below.
I've searched the lists here with no luck. Any pointers, or any URL
with more info would be great.
Thanks!
