nlme : convergence problem and other errors
Dear R-user,
I am trying to use the R "nlme" function to fit a non linear mixed
effects model. The model I wand to fit is an individual somatic growth
model with 4 parameters. For all parameters both fixed and random
effects have to be estimated, as well as their covariance matrix (see
the formula bellow).
The data are simulated with the same growth model as in the nlme, with

Active Directory Integration with FreeRADIUS - NTLM_Auth
Hello,
I am trying to walk through the following document:
http://homepages.lu/charlesschwartz/radius/freeRadius_AD_tutorial.pdf
in order to authenticate Cisco router and switch logins against
FreeRadius/Active Directory. Using the HowTo, I have successfully
joined a FC2 box to our Windows 2003 AD for testing purposes. I have
also successfully used the manual ntlm_auth command to authenticate

Bug in freeradius 1.1.3-1.5.el5_4 rpm
I upgraded one of my servers to CentOS 5.4 today. The freeradius
service (radiusd) didn't start up due to permissions errors. I tracked
it to the permissions on the /etc/raddb/certs/ directory being set to
640 rather than 750, so the radius user couldn't enter the directory.
In the spec file from the source rpm, line 200 should read:
%attr(750,root,radiusd) %config (noreplace)

Using winbindd socket directory for multiple domains
Hello
We have a setup on Ubuntu to join multiple AD domains and authenticate
using NTLM_auth with freeRadius. Since there're multiple ADs domains
involved, we were using "WINBINDD_SOCKET_DIR" environment variable to
use the correct cache directory for each domain.
Everything looks fine and all worked when using samba 4.7.9 running on
Ubuntu 16.04.
Now, we're upgrading to the

Just follow this and it "just works"

And this is asking for problems.

I'm trying to setup Rsync over SSH with openSSH running port 2222 with a remote RSA public key authentification and a restricted shell to avoid the user to browse my server via SSH, only be able to run rsync server.
1) i've built a regular rsync server over TCP/873
Worked fine, check my conf :

Samba 4 and freeradius
Hi,
My goal is to make use of samba 4 and freeradius to authenticate user to use wifi network (WPA2 enterprise).
The setup is to setup Samba 4.0.3 in machine A and setup freeradius in machine B.

rsync 2.6.8 timeouts
Hi.
I have an anonymous rsync server set up on cvs.blackfin.uclinux.org, which
allows people to take our entire cvs/snv respositories (which are _huge_)
and do local checkouts. It works really well for most people.
I have a client set up on a static IP numbers, off the backbone, which work
flawlessly. It never errors, and never has a problem. Thanks to everyone
for their hard work - for an

problems after migrating NT domain to AD (samba 4.7.x)
Dear List,
My domain +/- works, so I try to fix rest services based on domain NT/AD....
I use WiFi authorization with PEAP/MSCHAPv2 + freeradius (before
migration it works).
And after migration autorization does not work.
Freeradius server is on samba domain member.
So i check domain connectivity:
[root at see-you-later samba]# net ads testjoin
Join is OK

Freeradius, openldap and TLS
We have a freeradius server using LDAP authentication against openldap.
We have had freeradius-3.0.4-6 on CentOS 7 successfully communicating
with openldap-servers-2.3.43 on CentOS 5.
We need some features in freeradius-3.0.12. When I build that on CentOS
6, it initially works, but then develops TLS errors.
We can search and authenticate against the LDAP server with Apache, and

Using ntlm_auth with a non-Squid application
Hi Gaetano,
Good plan, I'd be very interested in your work as I am starting to look at
symfony here, also!
I do have ntlm_auth working perfectly using Samba 4 (and with badlock
patches). I use it with freeradius, not squid. An extract from my
/etc/raddb/modules/mschap, if it helps:
ntlm_auth = "/usr/local/samba/bin/ntlm_auth --request-nt-key

Samba 3.0.2x Wbinfo -t ShowslJoined, but -u and -g fail to retrieve anything
Folks,
I'm working on troubleshooting an installation where Samba 3.0.2x is joined to the domain. If I issue the command "wbinfo -t" it shows the secret is correct. If issues "wbinfo -u" or "wbinfo -g" they give an error about being unable to retrieve any users or groups.
Just to test whether I could authenticate against the domain, I tried using ntlm_auth

Guys,
Christian, Marco, Thank you very much.
Marco, you have the best internal wiki :-)
Very very usefull.
Whooe.. Most is working atm. And as always the solution was so simpel..
I forgot... To .. Add...
ntlm auth = mschapv2-and-ntlmv2-only
To the DC's smb.conf. :-/ pretty stupid.. But.
So far, it looks good. I've tested now.
