The most important thing is that Date objects by definition do not include time of day. You want to look at ISOdatetime() and as.POSIXct() instead. And beware daylight savings time issues. -pd On 18 Apr 2016, at 15:09 , Ogbos Okike <giftedlife2014 at gmail.com> wrote: > Dear All, > > I have a data set containing year, month, day and counts as shown below: > data <-

Dear ALL, Thank you so much for your contributions. I have made some progress. Below is a simple script I gleaned from your kind responses: Sys.setenv(TZ="Etc/GMT") dates <- c("02/27/92", "02/27/92", "01/14/92", "02/28/92", "02/01/92") times <- c("23:0:0", "22:0:0", "01:00:00", "18:0:0",

Dear All, I have a data set containing year, month, day and counts as shown below: data <- read.table("data.txt", col.names = c("year", "month", "day", "counts")) Using the formula below, I converted the data to as date and plotted. new.century <- data$year < 70 data$year <- ifelse(new.century, data$year + 2000, data$year + 1900)

Curious about new (ActiveRecord::Base)
Because the documentation isn''t clear (at least to me)... I have a Logfile model that has corresponding fields in MySql. The main ones are id, fileName, and content type. However, I can pass a File object to a new Logfile and have handlers that I created in the Logfile class extract the data. However, the documentation states "...you can?t have attributes that aren?t part of

Curious win32-changenotify behavior - numbers instead of names
Hi all, Ruby 1.8.5 win32-ipc 0.4.2 (or 0.5.0 in cvs) win32-changenotify 0.4.2 I noticed something strange tonight while tinkering with win32-changenotify. Here''s my sample script: # cntest.rb require ''win32/changenotify'' include Win32 path = "C:\\test" filter = ChangeNotify::FILE_NAME | ChangeNotify::DIR_NAME cn = ChangeNotify.new(path, true, filter)

Curious pause/resume behavior
Hi all, While testing the pause/resume functionality with the daemon_test.rb script, I noticed this odd bit of behavior. It appears that sometimes, the pause command seems to actually stop the service. It doesn''t happen every time - just sometimes. Here is a bit of command line history to demonstrate: C:\eclipse\workspace\win32-service-0.4.0\test>ruby daemon_test.rb start VERSION:

curious
I have rails on my linux laptop connecting just fine to SQL Server 2000. Why can''t I do the same with Ruby from a script or command line. More precisely, I cannot insert into a database table at all from a script or command line. (If I had to guess, I would say Rails is smarter than I when it automagically creates the sql statements.) Can anyone point me in the right direction on how

Samba4 stability: Just because I'm curious
Hi people: I know that Samba4 isn't ready for production yet, i understand that is in alpha phase. But I'd like to know what "isn't ready for production" means? What minimal features are stable and what aren't? Does this mean that the basic funcionality could just make Samba4 hang? I would appreciate some comments about the features or reasons that makes Samba4 unstable

Curious behaviour of openvpn
I noticed that when I went over to CentOS-5.4 on my server (and re-booted), my openvpn connections failed for a couple of hours, and then came back. Has anyone noticed this? What puzzled me was that the tun0 interface was present on all machines (according to ifconfig) but the connections seemed to be lost. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: gayleard /at/ eircom.net tel: +353-86-2336090,

curious unpacking issue
I'm not sure when exactly this started, but currently when I specify a ramfs image via the initrd line in grub, kinit picks it up as an initrd and tries (and fails) to unpack it and run linuxrc from it. I'm assuming this is not the intended behavior. Can anyone point me into the proper direction for unpacking an initramfs image ontop of the in-kernel image? Currently, I am using kernel

just curious
What is the expected behavior wrt ipv6 on Linux? My brother is trying to use sshd to bind to things and without '-6' on the commandline, it doesn't do any ipv6, even if 'ListenAddress ::' is listed in sshd_config. Also, with '-6', it receives ipv4 requests as well. This behavior is definately different from OpenBSD .. all addresses listed in sshd_config are used, and

Curious problem running Cambridge advanced dict 3rd on wine
I tried installing the Cam adv. dict 3rd edition on two HP notebooks. Both of them run on Ubuntu 8.10 and have a nearly identical packages list installed, expect a few linux applications. Wine version for both is 1.0.1 The Problem is it runs perfectly well on one notebook, while on the other the install only briefly opens the window where you can click "next", and then closes again.

Curious about ATI
I have a ATI 5700 HD with 1 gig of Vram on it. I'm also running a 6600 dual core processor, with 8 gigs of RAM. Just curious how ATI is standing up to performance in wine. I'm getting ready to join the Linux band wagon, and may be redoing my rig at the first of the year. I really hate to chunk my Video card though because its barely 2 years old and was top of the line at the time if I

curious (and incorrect) caller*id behavior
Hi- I have an FXO module in my TDM400P configured to receive caller*id (see zapata.conf below). I get a curious behavior: When I call this line with my cell phone, I see caller ID received just fine, with no warnings or errors.. When I call from another landline, I get different results: calling from external line, caller ID off: WARNING[1233021872]: chan_zap.c:4980 ss_thread: CallerID

Curious what 'early media' is in terms of Answer()
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+Answer Can someone clarify what "early media" is? I noticed that NOT answering a call before dumping them into a queue that has music on hold will not set up a leg to push music back over the calling SIP channel. Tossing an Answer command into the dialplan just before moving to the queue alleviates this (in either situation the
