non-interactive ssh connections (was Re: RSYNC ISSUE)
Gouri: close. Try "Ssh-keygen -p -P ''". You might argue that ssh should guess that -P imlplies -p, but that's an issue for your ssh maintainer. Also: you don't ordinarily distribute the private key. You need the PUBLIC key in $HOME/.ssh/authorized_keys on any system you want to access with the private key. Maybe i'm seing your application backward, and you

non-interactive ssh connections (was Re: RSYNC ISSUE)
First, an item to fix: the substitution of "-P" for "-p". All good operating systems are case-sensitive, and many utilities, ssh included, are case sensitive about their options. "-P" is passed along with the "-p" to signal that the next parameter is the passphrase, to enable passphrase setting directly in the commandline. If that's wrong,

non-interactive ssh connections (was Re: RSYNC ISSUE)
Hi, After creating and distributing the private key with "ssh-keygen -P", I am till getting the following error message while I schedule from cron. Only exception is right now , I have only one message which says "You have no controlling tty and no DISPLAY. Cannot read passphrase". Any help is appreciated. ILBC performance VS Speex?
I want to choose one codec between iLBC and Speex, because the codec is run on the embedded system,so the performance is the key factor to be encode and decode to be a real system. so ,i like to ask which codec is better in perfomance on the same hardware system? thank you -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... disk performance on server migrated
hi. i was migrated an old woody samba server to a new lenny samba virtualized server. That server is a PDC with random profiles and file server. Some users are reporting me bad performance in the app shared (all developed on MS-ACCESS). the memory and cpu reports in the domU show all fine, but i have some doubts in the disk performance. The dom0 is a Dell PowerEdge T610 (2 cpu Intel Xeon, 8GB

Dovecot 1.0-stable mbox performance and disconnections
I've got some of our busiest users now using Dovecot instead of UW-IMAP with mbox-format mailboxes and predominantly Outlook Express as the client. Doing some perfomance monitoring (with Solaris 8 process accounting), it looks like Dovecot needing to read only 30-50% of the disk blocks needed by UW-IMAP, but I was hoping for better! What seems to happen, is that most of the connections

Performance drop from 3.8 to 3.10
Upgraded recently from 3.8.15 to 3.10.5 and have seen a fairly substantial drop in read/write perfomance env: - 3 node, replica 3 cluster - Private dedicated Network: 1Gx3, bond: balance-alb - was able to down the volume for the upgrade and reboot each node - Usage: VM Hosting (qemu) - Sharded Volume - sequential read performance in VM's has dropped from 700Mbps to 300mbs - Seq Write

LLD performance w.r.t. local symbols (and --build-id)
Slowdown by "[ELF] - Early continue in InputSectionBase<ELFT>::relocate(). NFC.?" looks wierd for me. I do not see any reasons for any impact on perfomance by this change. Good news is that since it was NFC it can easily be reverted. But I think slowdown in results is unrelative with that change and reverting will not give us 2-3% boost back. Best regards, George.

Bad performance samba and Windows XP
Hi, I observed following behaviour. When I'm writing big (200MB+) files to samba share from Windows XP then writing speed is slow. Reading of these files (written from Windows XP) is very slow too. I found that it is caused by framgentation of this file [observed by using debuge2fs]. I tried to figure out what causes this framemtation and it seems that Windows XP is trying to do some

Auth against NT-PDC performance
Hi there, though I am not a newbie in SAMBA issues I wonder if someone could give me some advice: I set up a SAMBA server to authenticate against an NT-PDC. The number of clients is appr. 500. SAMBA is running on Solaris2.6 on a SUN Ultra250 (no perfomance problems on that side, I guess :-) ) The problem is, that I ?ve got far too much open sockets connected to the PDC even minutes after the

Samba 4 fileserver perfomance
I have at home two centos boxes: Box A - centos 6.4. gui version Box B - centos 7.1. minimal version. They are connected to 100Mb router (both boxes have 100Mb network adapters). Box B has software raid 1 and sata II interfaces.?On box B samba4 is installed and I copy files to samba share ( from box A to box B). Network monitor (iptraf-ng) shows only 20000 kbps of this copying operation. That is

temp fix: Simultaneous reads and writes from specific apps to IPoIB volume seem to conflict and kill performance.
The problem described in the subject appears NOT to be the case. It's not that simultaneous reads and writes dramatically decrease perf, but that the type of /writes/ being done by this app (bedtools) kills performance. If this was a self-writ app or an infrequently used one, I wouldn't bother writing this up, but bedtools is a fairly popular genomics app and since many installations use

Performance and scalability
Hi, My question is. What are your performance experiences compared to languages such as PHP, PERL and ASP? Could you build a site as big as Ebay on rails and have it perform fast enough? I''m afraid that the generalisation in components I see so much users asking for will make the framework too heavy compared to a clean programmed for perfomance PHP application. Probably even

RandomForest vs. bayes & svm classification performance
Hi This is a question regarding classification performance using different methods. So far I've tried NaiveBayes (klaR package), svm (e1071) package and randomForest (randomForest). What has puzzled me is that randomForest seems to perform far better (32% classification error) than svm and NaiveBayes, which have similar classification errors (45%, 48% respectively). A similar difference in
