Losing hope.
Is it normal for rsync 2.5.5 to keep locking up on large HP/UX 11.0 files? I am not talking about a delay here, but locking up and never returning w/error. Anybody have any suggestions? Is there anyway to fix large file support?
I got Large files working fine on Solaris, just make a 64bit binary :). Seriously, I would try making a 64bit binary for HPUX as well(something like +DA2.0W for 64bit PA_RISC). Large File Support on AIX 4.3.3
I've been trying to get rsync to work on AIX 4.3.3 with files > 2GB. I've looked through the archives and saw reference to this, etc. on HPUX but have not been able to come across a solution for AIX. I've tried compiling with the following flags without luck: "-D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64" There error I'm getting is as follows (when hitting the 2GB

Largest file system being synced
I'm interested in large file system replication capability of rsync. Could some of you people who use it share how large their mirroring is? What would you say is the largest sized site being mirrored using rsync? Thanks! JP

2.6.3, 2.6.4 incompatibilities
I am wondering if there are known incompatibilities between 2.6.3 and 2.6.4? I have a debian box with 2.6.4 and a FC3 box with 2.6.3. Most of the time rsync works fine between the two but I am running this command on FC3 box: rsync -azvv --stats --delete --files-from=/root/.rsb2.tmp / nathan@debian:/home/backup/bkp.01 And I am getting this error message: building file list ... updating server with rsync????
Hi, I have 2 ftp servers with 3 identical users. I want server B to be updated of server A. Whatever changes mmade by users on server A should be made on server B say every 5 hours. Is rsync the right tool to use here? Can rsync be used such that only changed files are downloaded? Thanks a lot and bye. Has anyone sucessfully compiled Samba 3 on HP-UX? I have had no luck so far. The LDFLAG that it uses, I believe -g, but I'd have to look, is not supported. ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | | Ryan Novosielski - Jr. UNIX Systems Admin |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| | novosirj@umdnj.edu - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent. | IST/ACS - NJMS Medical

HP-UX slow login problem found?
I think I finally figured out the problem that many people have been having with extremely long login times under HP-UX 11.x. The problem is really in OpenSSL, and in particular the Diffie-Hellman parameter generation routines under the PA-RISC processor. I suspect this may not be a problem with the IA64 (Itanium) processors. This especially shows up if you use the gcc compiler. Fortunately I
