Rsync recursion
Hello, I'm trying to break up my rsync process by separating a directory tree into multiple rsync processes because I'm witnessing some errors trying to rsync large directory trees on Windows machines. After breaking up the tree I tried to rsync each individual directory starting from the bottom directory on up using the command: foreach ($array as $directory){ /* $array = list of

I have rsync configured and working properly on my local network however when I try to connect from a remote host (one located in a different state) the connection times out. I was wondering if there was another way to set the timeout besides in the rsyncd.conf file? As I said the connection works fine on the internal lan, but

7-Zip for CentOS X86-64
Hey Y'all, I'm looking at ZCad: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zcad/?source=directory It looks like the kind of 3D CAD package that I've been looking for. It says that it works on Linux but it's zipped with 7-Zip which doesn't seem to be available for CentOS. Does anyone know if ZCAD or 7-Zip is packaged for CentOS X86-64 somewhere out there? -- _ ?v? /(_)\ ^

I have set up a system path to call python: "C:\python27" in path file. In addition, I have confirmed python interpreter properly. The code I used is typical for checking, which is as follows: x <- .Python("listdir", "/tmp",

chmod and chown
Hello guys, does anyone of you have problems with chown and chmod operations taking extremely long time to complete. For example chown on 200 MB folder is taking minutes. The MDS is not loaded at all. All other operations (file read and write) seem to be doing fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. _______________________________________________ Lustre-discuss mailing list

problems between different versions of rsync
Are there issues between different versions of rsync? Specifically I have a 2.4.6 on solaris 8 pushing to a 2.3.0 on solaris 2.6 over ssh(F-Secure version). The issue that I am seeing is that when I use the following command: rsync --delete -rlvp -e ssh2 $localdir user@host:remotedir The user and group are different on both boxes(neither being root). Any help would be appreciated. --Jeff

File Owner, Group and Permissions for Win2000
Hi, I need to mirror some Linux directories on a Win2000 box but the owner, group and permissions are lost. I realize Win2000 does not use the same system but thought there may be some way around it with cygwin. Is it possible to mimick /etc/passwd to preserve ownership etc? Is there a better solution?
