question on using keys
I've read man ssh and man ssh-keygen and some howtos and still am not getting what I expect. I can do ssh john at 192.168.15.3 and login with a password OK. I want to be able to do that with keys in preparation for running rsync with keys, so I created a key on router1, the machine I want to ssh from. routem at router1:~/.ssh$ lla total 20 drwx------ 2 routem routem 4096 2009-03-08 09:55 .

Help Running am-main.pl Perl/CGI on Apache Server
Hi all, I've installed Asterisk on Linux Red Had 9. Now, I was trying to set up a GUI based system for the PBX. I downloaded some packages, but I have to have Perl running CGI scripts through the webserver. It does not allow me to. I am able to run a basic script that just just prints out html messages and nothing else. However, when I try to run am-main.pl or config.pl or any other

Segmentation fault during compilation
Hey everybody, I've been trying to compile wine since version 1.0 and have gotten crashes during the make command, about 20 minutes in. Very frustrating. I'm running Fedora 9, and I believe gcc version 4.3.0.8. Is this a gcc problem? If so, what can I do to fix it? Output of failed make command follows... gcc -c -I. -I. -I../../../include -I../../../include -D_REENTRANT -fPIC -Wall

Anyone using coreos?
I'd like to hear from anyone using coreos to run a container with tinc for purpose of connecting containers. Sounds almost like a chicken/egg problem:-) I'm thinking of running a container with alpine linux and tinc installed there. John Griessen

Decoder speed: Test on slow machine
Hello everybody, today I had some time to test PeterĀ“s decoding plugin on a very slow machine. My setup: - Pentium "classic" @ 50 MHz (underclocked!) - Mainboard with Mercury Chipset (I think) - CD-ROM and HDD in PIO-Mode (CPU intensive) - MAD16 Soundcard (ISA slot, CPU intensive) - Win95B, Winamp 2.76, Decoder Plugin 1.16 (RC 2) The hardware setup is something like the

Lockups with kernel-2.6.32-358.0.1.el6.i686
I updated my home server with the 6.4 CR packages, and I've experienced 3 or 4 hard lockups since. The server is a fanless VIA C7 "CentaurHauls" system with a 1GHz CPU underclocked to 800MHz and 1GB of RAM. It has a dual-port Intel 82546GB NIC in its single PCI slot. (It also has an on-board Realtek RTL-8110SC/8169SC NIC that is plugged in, but doesn't currently have an IP

tinc to create VPN between cluster nodes (at different datacenters) for High Availability
I've not really dug into testing tinc yet, but if you all will humor me in an uneducated blast of questions, I'd appreciate it. What can you do to keep tinc going if your high availability comes from cluster nodes being dispensable? Can tinc run on the cluster nodes? That seems like chicken/egg problem though to get tinc server installed and cluster nodes brought up... If tinc needs to be

Asterisk and MiniITX setups
How well do you think asterisk could run on a miniITX board like the ones linked below with the call volume of say a small doctors office or something? http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/category.15/.f - Mark -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Intel Displayport on Centos 7
Since my current monitor appears to be slowly dying, I'm looking for a replacement. I generally use hardware replacement as an excuse to get something bigger/better/faster than what I had before, so I'm currently considering something like a BenQ GW2765HT. The manual for my Intel motherboard has this to say about DisplayPort on the built-in graphics controller: QUOTE: DisplayPort?s

Can this config sustain 30 users?
I have this server I need to put to work. The option I have is to make it work as a small office PBX with SIP users and a Digium E1 Card for PSTN service. 24 SIP users and one E1 card in an Intel 945board (533 Front side bus) with 1GB DDR 533mhz of ram, one Pentium Dual Core 2.66 ghz (FSB 533MHZ) and two 80GB SATA disks. Can the box sustain the load? I can add another 1gb of ram if necessary.

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking

rsync backup hangs at boot
rsync seems to work fine copying from the running system. Files match as far as a random check. I've been hoping to simplify life by rsyncing from the running system to have a bootable backup. Most conversations on the list suggest this is easy, and I've gotten it to happen, and now I've forgotten to do some detail.... ( /etc/fstab is corrected to refer to the device
