I am trying to finalize the use of rsync for updatiung a new nfs server before we take the old one offline. I keep getting the following warning during the rsync process: Warning: unexpected rad size of 0 in map_ptr Any ideas where this comes from and how to make it go away? We have a number of network-attached storage devices. 10/100 ethernet, nfs2 mounted (under nfs3, they buffer deletes, and recursive deletions fail). Hi, I need to mirror some Linux directories on a Win2000 box but the owner, group and permissions are lost. I realize Win2000 does not use the same system but thought there may be some way around it with cygwin. Is it possible to mimick /etc/passwd to preserve ownership etc? Is there a better solution? Are there issues between different versions of rsync? Specifically I have a 2.4.6 on solaris 8 pushing to a 2.3.0 on solaris 2.6 over ssh(F-Secure version). The issue that I am seeing is that when I use the following command: rsync --delete -rlvp -e ssh2 $localdir user@host:remotedir The user and group are different on both boxes(neither being root).
