unexpected EOF in read_timeout (was Re[2]: [Fwd: Re: meaning of "IO Error: skipping the delete...."]])
This is where it sets a sort of 60 second timeout if you don't set a timeout at all. As far as what it affects, I'm not that good with the code. I just know that my big syncs would die in almost exactly 1 minute unless I specified a timeout, and then would die at that timeout until i got it very large. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Tools@willy

I should have specified what i was replying to. This section seemed to be in reference to what I had experienced before. " > Well, I'm stumped too. Difference in behaviour with --backup
When I do rsync -av --backup --backup-dir=/dir1/dir2/Backup \ /dir1/dir2/dir3 machine:/dir1/dir2/dir3 I get /dir1/dir2/Backup/dir3/... /Backup/dir3/dir4/... i.e. the tree under 'dir3' (my source tree) gets created under .../Backup. This is fine. But when I do the same thing with a single file like rsync -av --backup --backup-dir=/dir1/dir2/Backup \ /dir1/dir2/file

Hi mabi, Some questions: -Did you by any chance change the cluster.quorum-type option from the default values? -Is filename.shareKey supposed to be any empty file? Looks like the file was fallocated with the keep-size option but never written to. (On the 2 data bricks, stat output shows Size =0, but non zero Blocks and yet a 'regular empty file'). -Do you have some sort of a

Samba 3 handles Linux permissions differently then Samba 2 ?
Hi, we have a problem with permissions migrating from a custom 2.4 kernel Linux distro with Samba 2.2.5 to OpenSuSE 10.3 (with samba 3.0.26). We used to have directories like this (relative to the Samba share): /root/dir0/dir1/dir2/dir3/userdir1-1/userdir1-2 'root' and all it's parent directories have '0755' Linux permission. dir0-dir3 all have '0711' permissions

Again thanks that worked and I have now no more unsynched files. You mentioned that this bug has been fixed in 3.13, would it be possible to backport it to 3.12?
