error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463) on HP-UX 11.23
Hello,
We discovered a slight problem with rsync 2.6.8 on HP-UX 11.23 on Itanium2.
When trying to get a directory listing via:
# oracle@DEV1[]:/~ > rsync dev1::deploy
drwxr-xr-x 96 2006/09/06 12:57:36 .
drwxrwxrwx 96 2006/09/11 15:35:33 test
# ...
it works flawlessly, but when trying to get a subdirectory we get the
following error:
# DEV1:/etc# rsync dev1::deploy/test

Max thin client sessions/gdm limit?
Greetings,
I've been subscribed to this list for some time and I'd like to start off by
thanking everyone who helps out on it. This is my first post to it, so please
be gentle :-)
I have several offices set up with RedHat and CentOS terminal servers. We are
using CentOS 4.6 and RedHat 4.6 on them, GDM for the display manager, and PXES

Logging of comments on keys
Hi,
during our usual work I found it anoying that one can not easily see
who logged in using public key authentication. In newer versions of
SSH the fingerprint of the public key gets logged, but who can tell
which key belongs to whom from his head?
So I wrote a little ad-hoc patch (vs. 3.5.p1) so that the comment
field on the keys in the authorized_keys[2] files get logged to make

defining columns in a matrix
Hi all,
I have the following 7 x 7 matrix. ?I am trying to figure out how to
label the columns to something more descriptive other than [,1], [,2],
etc.
I have tried the c(x,y,z,) function, but I get a error returned
stating that my vectors need to be the same length. Do I need to
convert this to something else such as a list and then repack it?
Thanks,
Kindra

ip_conntrack problem
I''ve been having all sorts of problems the last few days with my
connection slowing down and then stopping working.
Rebooting the router box always fixes it for a while.
When I couldn''t hit any pages this morning, and couldn''t even ssh into
the router, I dug around a little.
When I did a dmesg on the router, there were a bunch of errors saying:

Hello gentlemen!
I just experienced this weird thing:

a Fujitsu RX200S6 with 2 Xeon E5645), both run CentoOS 5.6, the DELL

2.6.18-238.12.1.el5 kernel.
But when I try to do a virsh create with this script

Shoutcast Compatibility
Hi all, I have been Shoutcasting for six years now but am looking at using
an Icecast server because of its active and ongoing development.
I have broadcasters who use Shoutcast-compatible tools so the Shoutcast
compatibility is important to me. I downloaded the latest version of Icecast
and used the supplied configuration file for Shoutcast compatibility as a
template.
I can in fact connect

Longman dictionary installer debugging
Hi!
I'm trying to install the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (which I
have got with the book with the same name).
I'm running:
the latest wine release (20020228)
Redhat 7.2
gcc 2.96-98
fake windows dir (altough I have tried it with a win98 install a month ago)
The installer is an installshild with win16 libs.
When I run it, it puts up a message box, that the install files

Characters don't appear in Perfect World International
I've recently downloaded Perfect World International (free2play MMORPG) after checking whether it was able to run with Wine, and apparently, it is: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=6191. It installed normally, but when I tried to create a character, nothing appeared. I still decided to go on, created the character randomly, and once really ingame, the NPC

cgroups not working?
Hi,
I'm trying to use cgroups to limit the apache webserver but this doesn't
seem to work as far as I can tell.
I modified cgconfig.conf like this:
group webserver {
cpu {
cpu.shares="250";
}
}
and addes this to cgrules.conf:
*:httpd * webserver
Looking into the "webserver" cgroup shows that the pid's of

Invalid Extensions -- More like traditional PBX systems?
I was wondering if there was a way of setting up the dialplan in a way
that if you dial an extension that is NOT in the dialplan then it would
play a not-in-service gsm file and then play congestion tones. I would
rather like this better than just hearing a busy signal on my phones.. I
DID search around on the wiki and using google and could not find anything.
Thanks.

I looked into Windows EventViewer and I found 'Invalid Credentials'.
But I do not know how to deal with it. I have authenticated with

My samba has been setup in its current configuration for around 9 months and
has worked without a problem, over the weekend my windows boxes were unable
to access the samba shares. Using SWAT I found that the smbd was not

Trying to start smbd (as root) from the cli with:

seq() function accuracy inacceptable (PR#8779)
Full_Name: Johannes Prix
Version: 2.1.1
OS: WinXP, SuSE Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (137.208.41.195)
The seq-command produces unnescessary inaccurate results, which can be extremely
annoying. I absolutely do not see the nescessity of numerical garbage to appear
in the following simple case. E.g. try this:
> seq ( 61.55 , 62.00 , by=0.01 ) - round ( seq ( 61.55 , 62.00 , by=0.01 ) ,
