Network Manager - rotate connection profile
I wasn't sure what to call this in the subject line, but here's my issue.
I have an occasional need to switch a few computers from one Internet provider to a different one. Both Internet providers feed into the same network, one at 192.168.0.1 and the other at 192.168.0.254.
So to change from one provider to the other I run nmtui to change the gateway and dns server addresses, then

R 3.4.4, internet access fails on Windows XP
I can install and run R 3.4.4 on Windows XP (32bit). However, calling "Update Packages..." or "Html help" from the RGui.exe main menu fails with a Windows MessageBox saying:
"The procedure entry point IdnToAscii could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"
and the following text printed to the RGui console window:

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all!
We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all
our systems.
But we discovered some Problems:
- With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem,
but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses
- With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel
from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

[fdo] Fwd: Your account has been deactivated
Hi! I'm sorry for the slow response on this, hopefully someone else was able
to help out with this? If not let me know and I'll look into re-activating it.
I certainly think I would have remembered de-activating you myself if you had
done something wrong, so I have no idea what happened here.

information about a function
Hi people,
I am new in this list and could not find a FAQ for it in particular,
furthermore I could not find my question answered in the official R
FAQ or docs.
I have simply something like this:
> f<-approxfun(data[,1],data[,2])
and f is:
> f
function (v)
.C("R_approx", as.double(x), as.double(y), as.integer(n), xout = as.double(v),
as.integer(length(v)),

IAX and NAT
Hi,
I know that IAX also works between networks using NAT, but SIP or H.323
doesn't. I wonder what is the reason for this behavior? Is there a
difference between this protocols acccording to NAT?
Thanks in advance!

Rcmd?
Hello,
a short question:
I cannot find the Rcmd file in the my installed Windows R Program.
It is not known as a command inside R (which is not intended as I
suppose)
nor as an executable or similar file elsewhere?
How can I make my own package?

C code
Hello,
I am new as R user. After reading the manual I did not understand one
thing:
Is it possible to write a stand-alone C-program (e.g. with its own GUI
etc.) using
R functions inside? (via the R.dll in the Windows case)
I understand that it is possible to write C-code to be used inside R,
which
1. do not use R-functions itself (called with .C)
2. do use R-structures inside (called with

while using cups as a print system and sharing all the printers with
samba to windows clients, is it possible to 'view' a newly created
printer in the browse list without restarting smbd ? (samba 2.2.7)

Different serialization of functions in interactive vs. batch mode
Hi Gabriel,
thanks for your reply - it does solve the problem of my toy function,
but does come with some other problems though.
a) as.list(f)[[1]] yields an expression, not a function. In order to
go the route you are suggesting, I would more likely use "deparse" in
order to get the original back
b) and more seriously - as.list strips the environment of the function

Simulating correlations with varying sample sizes
Hi there,
I would like to draw 10 correlations from a bivariate population - but every
draw should be done with a different sample size. I thought I could to this
with a loop:
r=numeric(10) #Goal vector
N = c(1000,100,80,250,125,375,90,211,160,540) #Sample size vector
for(i in 1:10) {
data <- mvrnorm(n=N,mu=c(0,0),Sigma=matrix(c(1,.3,.3,1),2))
r[i] <- cor(data[,1],data[,2])
}
