Comments requested on "changedFiles" function
In a number of places internal to R, we need to know which files have changed (e.g. after building a vignette). I've just written a general purpose function "changedFiles" that I'll probably commit to R-devel. Comments on the design (or bug reports) would be appreciated. The source for the function and the Rd page for it are inline below. ----- changedFiles.R: changedFiles

Mocha and rails 2.0.2?
Folks- With Rails 2.0.2, I''m seeing mocha failures where they did not fail with Rails 2.0.1 test_set_to_process_fail_in_transaction(FileRecordTest): NoMethodError: undefined method `ord'' for 63:Fixnum /home/wolpert/svn/rubylms/vendor/plugins/mocha/lib/mocha/class_method.rb:45:in `hidden_method''

Feature request... I think...
Folks- I just started using Mocha and I wanted to try something but I couldn''t get it to work. I''m coming from the Java world, so my approach may not be optimal for Ruby. Say I''m testing a.do_something() which calls b.do_other_thing() twice, but I really don''t want to change b.do_other_thing(), just ''expect'' it to be called twice. I know I

Nested matchers
We''re encountering a failure with Mocha 0.5.6. We had this expectation: game_version.expects(:attributes=).with(:game_file => kind_of(GameFile), :game_id => @game.id) This expectation was passing with 0.5.5, but fails with 0.5.6. I added this test to parameter_matcher_acceptance_test.rb, which passes in 0.5.5 and fails in 0.5.6 def test_should_match_nested_parameters

Windows nVidia driver initialization
Hi everyone, I'm trying to write a qemu driver to emulate an nvidia card, to take a look at commands sent to the board by windows drivers. The implementation is now very minimal, only VGA compatibility is granted. I'm seen that windows tries only to read the start of mmio address space and then select VGA mode. I guess it looks for some kind of success state, but i don't know what

Anyone using trunk?
Has anybody been using Mocha trunk over the last month or two? I''ve done quite a bit of internal refactoring and wondered whether anyone had any problems. There are also a bunch of new features e.g. states, sequences, extra parameter matchers & configurable warnings, but these are not documented in the on-line rdoc. I wondered if anyone has been looking at the rdoc in trunk and

Two bugs in rsync (--dry-run and --delete-excluded)
Hi rsync gurus! [Please Cc: me, as I am NOT subscribed to the list!] First the data points: debian/woody, local server=i386 arch, remote is alpha arch rsync version on both debian 2.5.5-0.2 While upgrading our server to a raid we were hit by a bug which I really consider very strange: The option -n/--dry-run does NOT change files, but DELETE files when called with --delete. Test case I had: $

Junk appended to filepath, impossible to read from filesystm
FYI this topic was crossposted to Gentoo forums (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-845865.html) Hello, Yesterday I updated Wine from 1.3.2 to 1.3.3 and today when I wanted to use a program through Wine (a text editor, but it doesn't really matter) I received an error that some files could not be found. The filepath given in the error message was wrong, instead of reading something like

rsync over ssh performance problem in cygwin
Hello! We have strange problem with rsync performance. We do files syncronization from w2k (cygwin, rsync 2.5.6) over ssh to Linux (rsync 2.5.5). We have several 10Mb files. First time, when directory on Linux is empty, all looks OK- syncronization takes about 10 minites. But when we try to do this second time, i.e. with files on Linux and windows, synconization takes more than 10 minites

How many files & directories in a ZFS filesystem?
Looking for a little help, please. A contact from Oracle (Sun) suggested I pose the question to this email. We''re using ZFS on Solaris 10 in an application where there are so many directory-subdirectory layers, and a lot of small files (~1-2Kb) that we ran out of inodes (over 30 million!). So, the zfs question is, how can we see how many files & directories have been created in

Problem with Samba re-share of a CIFS mount
Premise: I posted the same question to the linux-cifs mailing list. I absolutely don't want to cross-posting, but I am not sure if the problem is related to the cifs client or to the Samba server. If you think that this post is an unnecessary duplicate, feel free to delete it. Hi all, I have a strange problem trying to re-share, via Samba, a CIFS mount. Let first explain my network

Matrix Size
hi - i just started using R as i am trying to figure out how perform a linear regression on a huge matrix. i am sure this topic has passed through the email list before but could not find anything in the archives. i have a matrix that is 2,000,000 x 170,000 the values right now are arbitray. i try to allocate this on a x86_64 machine with 16G of ram and i get the following: > x <-

r: functions
hi all i have a function that uses two inputs, say xdata and ydata. An example is the following, simple1<-function(xdata,ydata) { ofit<-lm(ydata~xdata) list(ofit) } say i use arbitray number for xdata and ydata such that D = x1 x2 y 1 1 10 2 6 6 3 10 7 x<-D[,1:2] and y<-D[,3] if one uses these inputs and rund the program we get the following: >simple(xdata=x,ydata=y)

[PATCH 0/2] improve Lua API for files and initramfs objects
From: Paul Emmerich <p.emmerich at first-colo.net> Hi, the new API for initramfs and files in master lacked the ability to build initramfs objects from files loaded via HTTP/TFTP in Lua. The documentation indicated that it should be possible (and I believe I did that in an older version). I implemented a few new functions to handle files/initramfs objects better. Changes: * NEW:

Extracting a range of elements from a vector
Dear R users I am R newbie creating a function that implements the poker test to test pseudo random bit generators. Iam reading the bits from a text file (1 bit per line), which causes each bit to be stored in an element of a numeric vector. What Iam trying to do is to extract a "block" of bits of arbitray size from the original vector into a smaller numeric vector and then count
